A good seat cable works best with cable locks

This cable definitely won't stop someone with wire cutters from taking your seat. However, all I'm looking for is to deter opportunistic thieves from grabbing my seat and leaving, and so far this has served its purpose.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Minor issues

Not for expensive items

I use it to attach a bike seat. I was expecting it to be a little thicker, but it's lightweight and unobtrusive. Hopefully that will deter some opportunists, but I doubt it will stand up to a determined attack with a pair of tongs or a knife.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Disappear

perfect lightweight retention cable

Bought 2 of these to use in combination with my large lock/cable to secure my front wheel and seat post which are both easy to remove. They are primarily used to block the bike from the public for quick errands (shopping/post office, etc.). Very nice coverage and super light, perfect!

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Not sure

Many uses for this cable.

On the packaging, this cord is looped around the front wheel and secured with a U-lock. I plan on not needing this, but I bought this as a seat binding. Wrapped it around the frame and fed it through the seat and backrest, looped it over the head of the stem mount and then bolted the seat on. are needed. Hopefully that's a good deterrent to keep someone from stealing my $60 spot. =

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

Good snowboard lock alternative

After looking at many options I settled on this lock and installed a small master lock on it to secure my snowboard. It's small enough to double buckle and fit in a large winter pants pocket, but it's a lot thicker than those fun wire combination locks you carry around like a plastic rock that can be cut off with miniature scissors. Inevitably, a person or two will ask me where I got "that" from and I'll have to explain the whole bike seat short cable + master lock ha.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Problems

Universal bike cable

So far I like this cable. It is not very heavy and fits my needs perfectly. I use it for my bike and also to buckle my bags when I travel abroad. I used this on a recent trip to Thailand with a secure lock to keep my bags safe in my hotel room. It was easy to pack as the cable is not very thick and relatively light. I actually bought this to replace an old cable that was much thicker and more difficult to carry in a backpack. The price was also great for the quality of the cable in my opinion…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • New competitors have appeared

Fits me with bike locks

It works for me. Use it to wrap around my seat and rear bike rack, then attach to my OnGuard Brute U-lock. I can leave it on the end pinched by the C-pillar spring clip (I think that's what it's called). It saves me time locking it in a bike rack on the subway. This is NOT my master lock, it is only used for my seat and rear bike rack. I use an OnGuard Brute U-lock and a 4ft OnGuard steel cable. This cable is thick (not sure how thick, but if I were to guess I'd say 12-15mm). I use it to lock…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Upgradable
