Waterproof Airtight Tackle Organization Cases - Plano Guide Series Review Review

This box is excellent at keeping out moisture and odors. I didn't expect it to withstand a lot of bumps and splashes on the boat. I definitely wouldn't use it to protect its contents from deep immersion. I don't mind because I'm not a sailor. But the box is also perfect as a humidor, hiding place or moisture-proof container for optics.

I have used this box as a dry box for phone, wallet, ipad, boat registration etc. It took about six months for the hinge pins to rust. And now the gasket falls out and it's almost impossible to hold it. Also, the box was always kept dry in my console on the boat. This box wasn't cheap. You would think that two stainless steel hinge pins and the glue that holds the gasket in place wouldn't add $1.75 to the manufacturing cost. Why make something great and spoil it with a few cheap parts.

This is a beautiful box. It comes with two nice heavy silicone mats, one on top and one on the bottom to keep things from bouncing around inside. Now the bottom one stays in place under gravity. Unfortunately, the top one has no attachment method. I think I might try siliconizing it in place. Or maybe double duct tape. It just seems odd that there weren't any jigs to mount them. I have many Plano waterproof cases for the money, they are a cheap insurance policy that protects expensive gear…

I love this waterproof case. Clear plastic is easy to see through, triple side latches and a watertight seal protect 100% from water or moisture, plastic handle makes it easy to carry and folds down for easy storage. I use it to store my boat registration, fishing licenses, boat phones, tablets and many other things I want to keep safe. This is just one example of many uses.
