excellent wooden perch, suitable for cages and accessories

I have decided to buy a large cage for my elderly cockatiel. One of the sizes was 18 inches and I cannot use cementitious perches for him after he has fallen ill and x-rays have shown material on x-ray film. The girth is a bit wider than expected but I like the wood. It is durable and lightly ribbed. and easy for bird legs to grab. It was very difficult to find a wild bass of this length and definitely worth the money.

Pros
  • Natural wood perch with fasteners on both ends
Cons
  • Fits

Please read: Perch

So this product was almost 1 inch oversized which is very important if your cage width matched the size you ordered. Luckily my husband was able to cut off the excess. Second, the bark was flaking off it, so I had to scrape it off as much as possible and hand sand it so there weren't any sharp edges. After all the prep, this is a decent fat perch for my gray parrot. If you're not there, I would keep looking.

Pros
  • Dragon wood is naturally dense and durable
Cons
  • Update Availability

Great natural product! However, the perch diameter varies greatly.

That's a great perch! On the recommendation of my vet, I switched to natural perches. Natural contours are good exercise for your bird, and natural bark provides a surface for trimming natural nails and beaks. My bird loves it. It stays in the cage when I rinse the cage in the shower, and despite multiple soaks in water, the bark holds up well (doesn't flake off). The mounting hardware is great, it attaches to anything no matter what type of setup you have and it's the only product I could find

Pros
  • Designed for cages without strong support bars; Stops sagging
Cons
  • Zero
