The hardwood perch I bought for our Macaw Abigail is nice and sturdy. Love the fact that the holes were pre-drilled and the screws, wing nuts and end plates were pre-installed. Saved me the trouble of doing everything myself. The price of this perch was within my budget. And as a result, Abigail has a lovely new perch to sit on while in her cage and she loves it too.

I was looking for a replacement pole for my cockatoo. This one is very strong and its diameter is just right for its claws. They are very expensive at pet stores if you can even find them in the size you need. It came with NON-ZINC washers which added to my happiness and my bird thrives on it. She loves to run her beak over it and it doesn't really wear out. I highly recommend this for your medium to large sized bird.

I bought this perch for my B&G Macaw. The perch was perfect for about 2 weeks. I started finding tiny holes in the pole and bugs coming out that I had never seen before. I washed it again and let it dry in the sun to see if that solved the problem. it's not like this. Since then 3 more holes have been made as well as 3 more wasp like bugs crawling out of the tree. Needless to say he is out now and will never come back to my house.

I didn't realize that this perch had such a bark that you can easily chew it off. My bird is chewing on the bark and it makes a big mess and the bark is scattered all over. I think I should have guessed from the picture, but it seems to me that the perch maker knows better than to use wood with such bark. In addition, the perch is very strong and robust. If your bird isn't chewing, this is probably a great perch for you. Now that my bird has successfully gnawed all of the bark off the perch…
