FAST CHARGING: MUSTART Update 40A level 2 EV charger is 2.5 times faster than the 16A level 2 charger. It is 5 times faster than the 16A level 1 EV charger that comes with most electric cars. Malfunctioned outside Revain return window

Buyer beware: this product can only be returned through Revain within 30 days of purchase.For us, that was not long enough since it took about two weeks after purchase to have an electrician wire it in. The first use was fine and the vehicle didn't need to be charged again for about another 3 weeks. The second time it was totally dead and didn't work. Even though the product has a year warranty, the 30 day return window had passed. Had to go through the hassle of contacting the seller directly…

Replacement for defective product was free swift and easy!

I had a faulty charger cord for an EV. One call to Mustart and an email was sent, same day, asking questions and a request for photos. I responded and next day received email confirming replacement within 5-7 days. Charges my car guickly.

I ordered this charger and contacted an electrician to install the outlet at the same time. Unfortunately for me, the electrician canceled my initial appointment. By the time he finally got around to installing my outlet I discovered my charger was not working properly and I was past The return date. A waste of 350 bucks

Bought the product the last day of March only took a month before unit started having problems. Would get error messages on my 2015 spark which doesn’t happen anywhere else. Was unable to return to Revain for the return window was a very short one. Customer service for Mustart is horrid. I did everything thing they asked and they first wanted to blame the car for the problem then they wanted to blame my outlet (which was professionally done the same month) now instead of replacing the unit they

Great value for a 40 Amp portable EV charger

This Mustart 40 amp level 2 charger works great with our 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and 2021 Audi e-tron. The Pacifica has a slower charger built-in and will charge at just under 30 amps max, so if the Pacifica is your only EV then you will save money buying a 32 amp Level 2 charger, because paying more for a 40 amp charger will not give you any faster charging speed. I had no issues. in my review

I made this purchase based on the advertising.After making the purchase, I began reading some negative reviews from fellow EV-er's in my EV group and decided to return it.I called the Mustart Company. I spoke to a very nice gentleman. He accepted my decision to return it with no questions asked, but wished I would've used it and given it a fair trail before returning as he was sure I would've loved it.I have nothing negative to say about this company.

KW readout for my opinion

The unit works great with my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica . When fully depleted it recharges the battery in 2hr. 15 Min. I really like the readout that tells me how many KW were used. This lets me calculate how much electricity was used.

Malfunction mode in my review

I have a VW ID.4. This was the second charger I’ve purchased. Apparently it’s difficult to find reliable chargers out here. This one immediately put my car in a malfunction mode and it had to go into a reduced current mode to avoid breaking down. This left me getting 3 miles per hour. Definitely didn’t want to risk harming my vehicle so I’m returning it and am on to a search for my third charger. Hopefully this next one works. Oh - it also arrived all scratched up on the blue case piece.

Do Not Buy, Stay away

Terrible, worked fine fo a little bit then stopped working. it it is supposed to have a fault check yet it doesnt work. i had to buy a different brand to get my EV charged. reached out to Mustart support and haven't heard from them. its supposed to have two year warranty. lets see as i am not satisfied.

Fast level 2 charger for ID.4

I bought this as a backup emrgency charger to keep in my ID.4 since it has a NEM 14-50 plug I should be able to use it at RV parks. It charges the VW ID.4 really well, better than my 40A pulsar wallbox installed in my garage. Even though they are both rated for 40A the Mustart charges the ID.4 at about 30 MPH (9.6 kWh) at 50-80% SOC where as the Wallbox only does about 23 MPH (9.0kWh). I know it is not a huge difference in charging but the Mustart is also much cheaper. The only thing I dislike…
