This goal is great! We have a larger one that is difficult to take off and put back on. This fits a standard door and has a top and bottom lock so you can remove it from the door without losing the size you need for your door. Just stick it back in the door and turn the locks the other way and it's back to its perfect size!

I bought this unit to use as a vacation rental in a townhouse. I know my kids and don't want to worry about stairs. I put it at the bottom of the stairs during the day and at the top at night. I just adjusted it a bit each time I moved it. It's solid, but I wouldn't quite trust it at the top of the stairs. That's good if you don't have to move it constantly. We just jumped over it.

We received this as a stair gate in a holiday home we visit. Portability is great, but assembly was difficult! Luckily we only had to pick it up and take it off once or I would have probably thrown it down the stairs a third time. I got it as a warehouse deal so I didn't pay too much for it which is a good thing. After we installed it it stayed fine for 4 days but was NOT looking forward to using it again.

I wish I would pay more attention to some of the average or negative reviews. Other buyers were right. This product is not user friendly and does not work properly. Once you've finally assembled it, it will be difficult to feel the pins through the material when you need to adjust it. Then when you place it in place, it won't stick. We bought this to have on hand when our grandchildren came to visit. It was easy and quick to install (even the first time) and fits perfectly in a standard sized bedroom door. Very easy to remove by simply twisting the clasps. The beauty is that you can adjust it once to fit the width of the doorway, and you can mount and remove it quickly and multiple times without further adjustments. We bought 2 of these gates to use when traveling and have stayed in 20 different holiday rentals. They really fit every doorway, stairwell and walkway that we wanted to keep our little one away from. They could be installed anywhere quickly and easily. Once adjusted they felt stable and secure, although we used an Okey harness (?) as a failsafe for the steep stairway down to the basement. The first impression of this goal was great. The splints and material fit in a nice case and it's not very heavy. Just perfect for on the go.
