The power buttons stop working and everything stays on.

This USB hub is housed in a robust metal housing made of high-quality materials. Unfortunately, the individual on/off buttons stopped working within a day. All USB ports are now enabled regardless of whether individual port switches are pressed. Also, my Logitech USB port receiver stopped working in Linux when all the power buttons went to the ON state. I took the same receiver and plugged it straight into the USB port on my Dell laptop (no reboot just moving the hub to the laptop), my keyboard

Marriage ready to use, I return

I had high hopes for this hub. However, once I plugged it into my computer, it kept turning the USB connection on and off, even after I tried a better (and more reliable) cable than the one that came with it. I never got a chance to try actually plugging the device in because I couldn't trust it to also harm devices I might plug into it, so it comes right back. Thank goodness for Revain's return policy. The build looked good, but it's no good if it doesn't work! Bad quality control.

  • Easy to use

Robust design, weird problem

Once this hub is connected, two ghost drives appear in Disk Management and File Explorer even though nothing is connected to them and an Event 158 warning occurs "source Drive: Drive 4 has the same drive IDs as one or more drives attached to the system.". When plugged in, Device Manager shows: Drives MassStorageClass Generic USB Device MassStorageClass Generic USB Device Universal Serial Bus Controllers Generic SuperSpeed USB Hub Universal SuperSpeed USB Hub Universal USB Hub Universal USB Hubโ€ฆ

Lots of ports, really good build quality and amazing charging speed

I mainly use this USB hub to charge my five phones (I know it's ridiculous). This charging hub has a charging speed that I think is comparable to charging from a wall socket. Using it has saved me a lot of the frustration of just using a USB port. Also, I use this hub for my Oculus Quest 2 and the transfer speed when gaming is identical to my normal USB speed. Since I only need a USB 3.0 hub and a power outlet, I no longer have to worry about my USB ports. The build quality is also incomparable

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Negative experience

Simple but reliable product.

Works as expected, for reference I have a Thermaltake laptop cooler, a Corsair RGB mouse pad (with a Corsair RGB mouse attached to the pad), 2 joysticks and a headset that I always use with connected to the hub. It's also great that I can turn each port on and off individually, since I don't have to turn on the joysticks as often as other peripherals. I also connect the hub to my laptop using a Type-C cable, as I have the choice of using a regular USB cable or Type-C. And you don't have to plug

Great Powered Hub Perfect for Mac Mini

Works great with my new Mac Mini M1. The 2020 Mini has a limited number of USB ports, and this hub more than meets that limit. I have a hub that connects to the Mini's Thunderbolt/USB-C port. My WD 4TB external drive and printer connect through a hub and work fine. Time Machine backup to external hard drive works great. The build quality is excellent and the aluminum body is solid. The fact that each USB port is powered is a huge plus. The on/off buttons with activation indicators are a greatโ€ฆ

Plug 'n' Play with Mac M1 Mini

The new M1 Mini has fewer ports than the previous Mini I replaced so I bought this hub on the recommendation of an IT friend. I record music, use MIDI etc and need multiple ports. The Marstech hub does the job, seems to maintain the desired speed, and has a premium feel to the chassis and switches. I just plugged it in and it works (as it should). To my knowledge, an external power supply helps maintain transfer speeds when using multiple devices. So if you need to use more than one or twoโ€ฆ
