Description is right - nice little dust collector

Have it. Had it direct connected to a table saw at first and it was fine. Now run two branch lines and two blast gates to have it pull from the table saw and jointer and it's still fine. Just pull from one machine at a time. No, it doesn't have the ooomph (suction) that larger machines have, but the price/performance ratio is pretty good.

Pros
  • ‎both
Cons
  • The power cord is short, limiting where the dust collector can be placed in the workshop

It is REALLY important that you do some research on your specific needs before going in head first for a dust collector. I find that this collector is far too small for just about ANY home shop, and let me tell you why.First, some great references are located below in the comments (I am not allowed to link outside ebay in this review)The fact is that for the average person, you may be tempted to hook up this dust collector directly to your small table saw, planer, or jointer's 4" dust…

Pros
  • High Performance
Cons
  • Poorly designed dust collection ports that can easily clog

great from my small shop

I have had this for several months now and it has worked really well. I use one tool at a time, but I think thats all its rated to handle. It's nice and quiet and has pretty good pull even though I am running it through 18 feet of hose to my jointer and tablesaw. I also use it to vacuum the floor through over 20ft of 2 1/2 inch hose and it works fantastic. I have filled the bag about 10 times and have had no problems with it. It seems well built with quality components. My only gripe is that I…

Pros
  • ‎G8027
Cons
  • Poor customer service from the manufacturer

Can't be beat for the price

I've had this for 5 years now and not one problem. It is relatively quiet and the band clamps are very easy to use to release the bags. I recommend you get the 1 micron bags instead of the 30 micron that is supplied by grizzly. I've hooked this up to my tablesaw and planer and it never bogged down. A solid performer.

Pros
  • • Motor: 1 HP 110V single phase • Motor Amp Draw: 8A • Number of 4-Inch Intake
Cons
  • The motor is not designed for continuous operation

Jury of 1 is still out for deliberation

came packaged well, but the motor won't stay running. Called support and they were great at troubleshooting and have the needed part on the way. will let you know more later, after the part is installed and the machine is up and running. If this does not work, I think that I will return it.

Pros
  • ‎No
Cons
  • Difficult to assemble and set up

Best with saw dust rather than shavings.

I have this dust-collector hooked up to my table saw, where it does a very good job of reducing the mess. I also hook it up to my thickness planer when I have a lot of planing to do and have found that does a pretty good job; but the intake fitting where the hose is attached is reinforced by cross pieces that can obstruct the flow of shavings. Solution: take light cuts.

Pros
  • ‎110 Volts
Cons
  • The dust collector can overheat with extended use

Suction not as strong as expected

I purchased this for my husband to use in his woodworking shop. After he put it together, he was a little miffed to discover that the large Shop Vac he had just purchased had better suction than this machine. Since we are planning on moving within the next year, he has decided to keep the item for his new, larger workshop, even though he was disappointed with it.

Pros
  • Works great!!!
Cons
  • Bulky and takes up a lot of space

dust collector: my feedback

this is a great product for the small workplace. large in size but only straight up, really does not take up alot of room. it is also a lot quieter then i had thought. not to easy to set up as instructions leave a lot to be desired. but well worth it for the price.

Pros
  • It's also very portable so you can take it to the job site where it can handle the big jobs a regular shop vacuum can't handle
Cons
  • Not suitable for heavy-duty woodworking tasks

Would buy again. on my review.

arrived in good condition -small paint chip separating --that's a cosmetic thing that I can live with as I am buying it for function not for looks. The sacks look small, but the quick release makes up for it. Would buy again.

Pros
  • Goes with the saw to keep the mess off the floor...
Cons
  • High noise level during operation

Revainrating 3 out of 5

WAY under powered. for my opinion

Way under powered. Gets clogged alot. Even with fine dust. Don't even try with shavings of any size. Will NOT work on a jointer or planner. Sanders only. Keep your hose short.

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • Replacement parts and filters are costly and difficult to find

Great for a small shop

If you have a small shop, this dust collector is more than you need. You can connect it to multiple machines (with blast gates, of course) and receive excellent results. A great dust collector for a one man shop.

Pros
  • ‎18.5 x 26.3 x 17 inches
Cons
  • Not effective in collecting fine particles and airborne dust

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Smaller than I expected but that was good too for my shop.

Sometimes power comes in small packages and this is one of those times. I have mine dedicated to my table saw and router and it does an excellent job. It should have came with at least 3” casters for people that are going to be moving it around their shop.

Pros
  • Energy Efficient: With its high-performance motor and efficient design, the Grizzly G8027 is an energy-efficient solution for your workshop. It's capable of capturing dust and debris without consuming excessive energy, thereby keeping your energy bills low and your work environment clean and fresh
Cons
  • Lack of features such as a remote control or automatic shut-off

Don't waste your money.

When I read the reviews, I thought this collector would be adequate for my small shop. I was so wrong. It just doesn't have enough horsepower. It barely picks up the sawdust from my table saw and even less from the planer. It does a fair job with the router table. To add insult to injury, when I assembled it, some of the screws and nuts were missing. Of course, they were metric, so nothing I had would work. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this to another…

Pros
  • ‎56 pounds
Cons
  • The plastic bag that collects the dust can tear easily

Let's go 3.5 stars

l have had this machine since 2004. I use it in a garage converted into a small wood shop. Having been a cabinetmaker for a decade before a career change this machine sees mainly hobby use but also for the occasional "side job" when a friend ropes me into building something. I purchased this machine because it was inexpensive and compact. For the money, it works. You just have to know what you are getting. If you plan to use this collector, you should figure on using it on ONE machine…

Pros
  • Power Tools
Cons
  • Can overload and trip circuit breakers easily

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't use with planers

It collects fine saw dust great. Any large shavings from a planer clog up in the hose at the dust collector. Works great with table saws and routers.

Pros
  • ‎Portable
Cons
  • The plastic housing is prone to cracking and breaking

Very Good For the Money

I have one of these (not exactly, but I bought one from Homier and it looks like the exact same thing but brown in color). Have had it for almost 5 years hooked up to a Ryobi BT3000 and it has worked well and flawlessly. Not very loud and sucks well (this is a good thing!). Easily worth the money! Recommended!- Kofi

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • Dust and debris can get stuck in the impeller, causing decreased suction power over time
