🔋 115 Powermax Review

My HO alternator's original pulley was too large and could not support the open circuit voltage. This smaller one is the perfect size and fits so well you wouldn't know it wasn't made specifically for this - you gotta love tight tolerances. Using an impact wrench, I was able to remove a pulley nut (size 15/16" for most GMs) in seconds with one hand. So quick and easy I couldn't believe I almost got one of those alternative pulley removal kits. Definitely not required for this type of pulley.

I bought a 255 amp alternator but it was 12.9 volts at idle and on load. This pulley and belt from the 105 amp alternator worked great. Front and rear fans running at high speed, headlights on, A/C on, stereo and amp on at max volume and 50 amps connected to a solar regulator charger for a Lifepo4 deep cycle battery, still 14.10 when the battery starts volts are output 600 rpm. . I used this pulley on my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. I wanted to achieve two things: 1. Away from the original CHARACTER "clutch" pulley (they break ALL). 2. Change to a slightly smaller diameter to speed up the alternator so it can idle more amps. In order for the pulley to fit the alternator and not rub, I had to grind one side 2mm (see attached picture). .So far, so good. 1 week has passed. I don't expect any problems.
