The description says only one device can connect to the internet at a time. It should be said that only one device can connect to the splitter at a time! As soon as you connect a second device, even if it is switched off, both lines are immediately disconnected. A splitter to disconnect one device and connect another is a screen door in a submarine. Garbage. Spend $10 more and get a real router.

WILL NOT WORK as a junction box or similar, WILL NOT WORK when connected to a router. ran a long cable to our router in the other room to use this splitter for 2 computers and it doesn't work at all only when one computer is connected. I would assume it would work when connected to a modem but NOT to a router. I think the switch work is connected to the router, why not? ? I think that's cheap junk. Don't buy if you plan to connect to a router

I need this so I can connect my DirecTV and PS4 to the same ethernet line. I read the fine print and realized I could only use one device at a time. How could or why should I use both devices at the same time? Well, this splitter still doesn't work. My PS4 cannot connect to the internet. I turn off my PS4 and try DirecTV on demand. No internet signal. I remove the splitter and connect the cable directly to any device and no problem. This item was completely useless to me.

Wrong item. I ended up scheduling a meeting with my internet company only to find out that this switch didn't work. There is no output at any of the output ports. I only found out today because it took a while for my internet company to come out and verify it. Since this was not a problem for my website, I had to pay for the service technicians' time.
