but am disappointed by the made in china part

I guess it will be OK for the price, but am disappointed by the made in china part . I just wish sellers could at least be honest. If it is made in china, don't advertize made in united states like this add said, which is false advertizing, which is a lie. I for one, look at things like that and sometimes make decisions based upon where made. All edges are sharp a a knife and will have to tweak before using. I try to give blood at the red cross, not in the shop.

Accuracy good, manufacturing bad!

Manufacturing gets 2 stars, accuracy gets 4 stars for the price.CON'S:Blade is bowed, but easy to straighten.All corners on all heads and on blade are sharp, but no burrs.Protractor degree dial is slightly out of round but spins easy.Protractor does NOT have the three pins, shown in picture,on the degree dial.In all 3 heads, the slits for the blade are NOT centeredwith the blade hold down pin holes, which means onlyone side of the blade may be used! You must eithermill or file the smaller half…

It's a Kit good for me

The set arrived in good condition. The case is adequate for storage and transport. All of the heads were very sharp edged and did not feel good in the hand. The square head is out of square and the protractor head was unusable out of the box. The blade has a nice satin chrome finish as does the protractor scale, but the blade is not 12” and the ends are not square, making it useless for layouts.This set will require extensive fettling and replacement of the blade before use.

Good shop square good for me

Purchased this after pitched my Stanley combination square in the garbage for being out of square. The Grizzly does have a plastic spring seat which I've seen break, I'll machine a steel one. My only other complaint is that the ends of the blade are not smooth, but then it wasn't as pricey as my Starrett set.

  • The set includes multiple pieces, which can be overwhelming for those new to precision measuring tools and could lead to confusion

terribly made product

Just bought product and cannot even use Product is not even close to square on combination square protractor degrees do not read corectly have not checked corner piece and machined slots on each piece for the slide rule are terrible i would not buy this product

if you require a straight line to be a straight line, these ain't gonna do it for you …

these are not accurate and are really cheaply made … simple test is to set one up and scribe a line onto a piece of scrap, straight wood. reverse the angle, place your gauge in the same spot and you should scribe the exact same line after flipping the gauge … with this set you end up with two lines starting at the same point but drifting towards the end … keep looking and don't be afraid to spend more to help your work be better …

  • The scale of square is just in inch. The scale of square should be IUPAC unit.
