The generator has a decent noise. You can hear it in the truck. It's quite annoying and some people notice it. I'm guessing it's the front bearing. Voltage and current are within specification. I'll just restore my old one and return it if this one fails. I do not recommend. It will fail prematurely.

I bought this brand new alternator after buying a reconditioned unit locally which I had to return twice. This alternator is an exact replacement for the original alternator in my 2001 Tahoe and works great. I was a bit skeptical when I received it and saw that it was made in China but like I said it works great. Can't beat the price and the guarantee.

Advantages: Works as described and produces electricity as it should. Cons: The body needs to be modified and sanded to fit the LB7 generator. to be cut down on my engine. If I didn't have the right tools to grind it I would be forced to send it back and find another alternator. Once you finally plug it in, it plugs in and works and works fine, the first day of installation. The voltmeter on the dashboard reads about 14.5 volts, before the replacement it was 13.

Ok, unpacked, spin tested. I felt and heard a very slight friction at a certain point of rotation. Probably a little 0.002 inch too close. Installed it anyway.
