Doesn't fit: Replacement parts

I don't normally look at things but this didn't fit my 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0 118.0 wheelbase. Cheer up if you're thinking about buying one.

The sending device is unreliable.

I bought this because the fuel level sensor on my truck failed. A new fuel pump won't hurt after 234,000 miles. The pump works great. I ran out of gas today on my way to work and the gauge still said almost 1/4 tank. I would send it back if the replacement wasn't such a big deal.

No Instructions: Fuel Pumps and Accessories

Unfortunately without instructions the float is not attached to the pump assembly so I attached it to what I thought was the closest match to the one I was replacing . Well my guess was wrong, my gauge read 1/2 tank when there was less than a gallon. So I could confidently walk away and drive myself crazy. I was lucky enough to do it twice
