My husband installed them for me and I no longer bang my head on the sunroof! The door rises like when you bought your first car!

This was the worst purchase, they were broken and didn't collapse so my window wouldn't close. I wouldn't buy this again. Absolutely useless.

Very easy to install and works great. They completely expand the trunk and close easily. They don't make any annoying squeaks or noises when opening or closing the tailgate.

I installed these on my Toyota Matrix. Worked for a year (used a lot). Then the lower bracket on the right pillar came loose and the hatch hit my daughter in the head. The clip holding the stand is bent. It was impossible to fix. So much for paying less than you would at an auto parts store!

I bought these springs to replace worn lift assist gas springs on my 2005 Toyota Matrix. The description says they are for my rear window, not my tailgate. These supports were strong enough for a window. I couldn't close it without breaking the tabs they attach to. They were also too weak for the trunk hatch. Do not buy these for 2003-2008 Toyota Matrix, although Amazon says they will fit, they will not WORK.
