Fixed my problems - air tool parts and accessories

Worked great on my compressor. I had to adjust it 180 degrees from the old one because they flipped the sides on the copper wire and such, but easy enough.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

No help from Ingersol Rand

The old model is stuck but I don't know if it's working properly. And neither Ingersol Rand through their website nor the local IR dealer offer the slightest assistance in delivering services. He left several messages for the IC and personally went to the local "procedural and law enforcement idiots". Thanks for nothing IR.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Older model

2.5 stars good at best for air compressor accessories

For $90 I wouldn't have to provide a plug for an unused port and then look up why the node is leaking air. This switch is set at 185psi which is not adjustable unless you have a custom tamper resistant driver. I don't have high hopes for the durability of this switch, especially as the original failed after only 3 years of light to moderate use.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not as bulky as other options

The switch is losing air!

I bought two of these devices and I think both are defective. The problem is that both units lose air when the compressor is off, causing the tank to lose pressure and the compressor having to be turned on again and again. There are many threaded pipe connections that can leak, but I tested them with leak detection fluid and couldn't find a leak. The leak is coming from the switch and I think it's internal.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Communication with the seller

This may not be your problem

My compressor had a leak from this switch and all troubleshooting led to it. After replacement, the leak stopped until the next cycle. In a nutshell. After investigating the problem further, I saw a check valve on top of the tank. I did a little research and yes that is why the switch is leaking. This may not be your situation, but if it's still leaking after replacing it, try replacing the valve at the top of the tank. This is called a check valve.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Useless features

There was an air leak on arrival.

I bought it to replace the pressure switch on my compressor whose contacts were welded. It was the exact replacement. On arrival the pressure regulator had an internal air leak. Since I needed to start my compressor I decided to take it apart and try to fix it. The inner seal is leaking. It looks like there may have been some dirt on the surface prior to installing the gasket. After cleaning and replacing the seal it's fine now but I don't trust it so I turn it off when I'm not using it. If I…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I don't remember
