I love these things

I love using M2.5 screws in my 3D printing projects. I use a soldering iron to push the brass insert into the hole I'm creating in the 3D part.

Pros
  • heat shrink tubing
Cons
  • old

Work very well! on fastener

I used these in a straight hole 4.5mm wide x 5.5mm deep on a 3D printed plastic part. They went straight in and were very well behaved. 3D printed holes in my printers are 0.4mm narrower than intended, like most printers, without compensating for this in the slicer software. Thus, after printing, the holes have a width of about 4.1 mm. This provides very good coverage around the insert with minimal plastic breakout.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Some problems
