Put up a 3 foot fence around the front yard and later got a German Shorthaired Pointer. Needless to say we needed something to keep the dog from pretending the fence didn't even exist! Extreme Dog Fence with 16 gauge wire works very well. Since she was a pup, she can be easily trained to dodge the fence and has never escaped. I highly recommend this fence.

I installed my original Sportdog guard and it worked great for a number of years until the wire started to break. Eventually I got to the point where figuring out where the break was was too much of a hassle, so I decided to reroute the wire. I've decided to switch to this heavier wire and let me tell you it's MUCH stronger than what was in my original fence. I assume this will take many years. Worth the money given the time it takes to run the fence.

I purchased this item to use with the SportDog floor system. I'm glad I did - the wire that comes with pre-packaged systems is very flimsy compared to this wire. The actual copper conductor in the Monster brand cable is 2.5 times thicker than the material supplied with the system.
