Great for a 2 year old ! I have carried my strong padlock, water bottles, phone etc here on various long haul trips. I bought it in July 2013. In August 2015 I ran into a bump and the belt broke. As for the cheap straps, I was able to wrap up the rest and poke a new hole to last the rest of the ride. If you don't mind that the basket is smaller then no problem but if you're expecting the sizes described it won't be, at least none of them have sent me. Actual size is 12x10x9. Returned. Replaced a worn out basket I had with the same dimensions as described. Again, no problem if you don't mind a smaller size. This was a birthday present for my 10 year old daughter who loves to cycle and 'treasure-pick' on the go :) I was fed up with looking for treasure The washing machine. The basket is good and durable - it's easy to put a picnic in it. It's bigger too - she (and her bike) will grow into it. While it's sturdy for a picnic, I doubt I'd try to put serious groceries or similarly heavier loads in it. Brake lines do not interfere.
