Description of 🔥 Proto Pasta HTP21705 SMK Temperature Spool - Silver

Prints like standard PLA, but with better than petabs temperature resistance after annealing. Comes on fully corrugated recyclable spool with standard dimension. Silver Smoke is a translucent Smoke color similar to tint end Windows. We recommend printing this material at 190c-230c. No heated bed is required but may improve printing some geometry. Temperature resistance of up to 140C is achieved by annealing after printing in an oven at 60c-110c. Designed and manufactured in the USA with quality and as a top priorities. USA sourced packaging and labor.

Deformation problems of 3D printing consumables

Cool material and beautiful color. The color change from translucent to opaque during heat treatment is interesting. I had some issues with parts warping during printing and also during heat treatment. Both problems are to be expected, but annoying nonetheless.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Fragile

Go forward. Don't waste your time and money

Waste of time. The first spool I ordered had a piece of non-PLA material in the filament that caused a jam at the end of the print, causing the entire spool to be lost. Ordered a second roll, assuming it was an accidental quality control error. The second roll was not sealed at all. There are no holes in the pocket. They just didn't suck. For a speed twice that of most filament, this should have much better quality control.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not sure

Couldn't get a decent print with this filament

As hard as I tried, I just couldn't get this filament to print anything on my Prusa Mini without severely jagged print lines and tension. I've made several attempts to tweak it, such as: B. Belt tension, frame orientation/density, extrusion multiplier, etc. to no avail. In the end, the thread was too expensive for me for half a roll, so I sent it back. It was also wound quite tightly, which may have made the problem worse.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
