Recommended by my naturopathic doctor. I really like it and my body seems to prefer it to melatonin even though I take both. One thing to note, my doctor has told me that if I take this I must also take L-Tyrosine in the morning as L-Tirptophan depletes my stores. L-Tyrosine. I use the Thorne brand as they suggested. I trust my doctor's advice and this product helps me sleep when melatonin alone won't. It seems very gentle and for some reason I like it even more than melatonin. One thing to note, my naturopath suggests taking it in combination with L-Tyrosine (but in the morning, not at night). She said L-Tryptophan can deplete this amino acid from the body, so I take two Thorne L-Tyrosine capsules when I wake up. Finally sleeping through!

I'll start by saying that I've had poor sleep all my life, especially after having a child, and I'm used to waking up at night. After waking up with a very difficult time going back to sleep, my naturopathic doctor prescribed me this brand of L-tryptophan. I had previously used the powder version which was difficult for me to swallow and it turns out I wasn't taking enough so I didn't take tryptophan as what would work for me.
