Excellent for aluminum flanges and gasket surfaces

When used in combination with a Roloc 3m-18733 bristle disc this combination has proven excellent for removing gasket material and general cleaning of gasket surfaces on aluminum heads, intake manifolds, Water pump and other aluminum components. It also looks like it will take a reasonable amount of time as I cleaned all the aluminum components on the big block GM engine.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Center pin not well centered

You used to buy these sanding pads that were firmly attached to a metal pin. Now they seem out of reach so we're back to parts that don't fit and don't center well in the last. Try to find something better with a smaller hole that centers well. You can use a smaller angle grinder with reinforced grinding pads centered on the grinder shaft.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Only available in black

DEATH RISK - NO QUALITY - Prosperity Tools has no guarantee.

Was broken right out of the box. The brass insert that has to be pressed into the aluminum pod holder had almost no knurling. No wonder he didn't hold back. There is no quality control for goods made in China. For a tool that spins up to 30,000 RPM, this is dangerous at best and fatal at worst. I called PTC, the manufacturer, and was rudely told that they would not honor the limited warranty. I will never buy from this brand/store again.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Some defects

Roloc 2 " Wheel Holder - 1/4 " Shank

This IIT wheel holder works well with IIT brand grinding wheels. It has a 1/4" shank and is rated at 20,000 rpm. Even at high speed there is no noticeable vibration. The grinding wheels spin and lock securely and are also easy to unscrew when it's time to change them. It was a lot cheaper than the actual 3M brand Roloc disc holder, so while it's worth it, even if it only takes a few jobs, I'm all I'll be more than happy with.

Pros
  • High test results for grip and durability
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Power Sander parts and accessories are hard to break into

I bought this to use with my Neiko Heavy Duty 1/4" angle grinder along with several 3m Scotch Brite grinding wheels. The Roloc -Mounting system is very handy for quickly changing between grit and wheel type This guard comes in such a way that the notch on the roloc is super super super tight and it ripped the back of 2 or 3 of my good 3m abrasives .The roloc die is split to allow it to clamp plastic threads, but it is too tight from the factory. After forcibly turning on 4 to 6 discs and…

Could be more flexible

Roloc holders do the job. I bought 2 and have been using them regularly at work for several years. Over the past few years I've had the opportunity to use, look at, compare, rent, etc. other more expensive disc holders. Compared to them, they are much more robust than the more expensive ones. That doesn't mean they're stronger, they're just less flexible. It's a very hard plastic. They haven't broken or malfunctioned yet, but I feel like they would be more convenient to use if they were a bit…
