This is a very strong lock, too bad it doesn't fit very well. I bought it for a 2 5/16 hitch, the part that fits where the ball goes doesn't snap, it stays on when the hitch is locked. I think this is one of the BEST locks on the market. I also checked out Castle Amp and GusHill. I didn't choose GusHill as they didn't seem to support their product. Update #2 After a few emails to Proven Industries I found out that this unit does indeed have the latest washer lock and appears to have an updated key/lock (no key). Checked my account. The inner/outer case is great. Fits my hitch and stores my chains perfectly.
