Disappointed. Made in China

Seems ok for the money but I'm disappointed that it's made in China. In the future I will just use the Japanese filter. Yes they are a bit more expensive but the quality control is much better.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Appearance

Direct replacement fuel filter for Subaru.

I used to fit this brand of filter on my Subaru when it came time to replace it. Purolator standard quality but much cheaper than local auto parts stores. I'm ready for another 30,000 miles!

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Hard to say

Made in China for filter

The shipment just received was stamped "Made in China". Fits 2003 Forester XS with no problems. With a car this old it's a good idea to have the EFI hoses checked and replaced if necessary, a new hose is only a few dollars a foot, otherwise starting a gas fire in the engine bay can be expensive.

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Something else

Good price and easy exchange.

Great price. Easy to replace. O also had to replace the rubber fuel lines that had become unusable. Additional $5. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. Get a few yards of fuel hose ahead of time and you'll be fine. Just keep an eye on the fuel in the line when disconnecting.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Good but not great

Perfect fit and functionality; 2002 Subaru Outback Limited

This filter fits perfectly on my 2002 Outback with 2.5 SOHC engine. Installation was easy and works well. The filter collar was not loosened - a problem with some filters. Be sure to check the condition of the factory rubber fuel hoses as they can crack, become brittle and leak over time. The hoses can be replaced if necessary with a '5/16 fuel injector hose' which is available at most auto parts stores.

Pros
  • Handy
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others

More power and better MPG

I am very glad that someone suggested changing my fuel filter! My high mileage 2003 Subaru Outback wasn't accelerating well uphill and my mpg dropped. After changing the filter, I had no problem maintaining a steady 60 mph while cruising through the mountain passes here in Oregon. And fuel economy jumped about 3mpg. It is very easy to change the filter yourself. Be sure to depressurize the fuel lines before replacing (easily done by removing the fuel pump fuse and allowing the lines to dry).

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Very expensive

Good alternative to OEM

The Purolator fuel filter appears to be well made. That's half the cost of a Subaru filter. Fits my 2002 Forester with no problems. No changes to make it usable. The fuel line and fuel line routing are almost identical to the original Subaru fuel filter. Perfect fit for the holder. After installation, filled the fuel pump and started the car. I have used many Purolator products in the past and have always been pleased with their performance. I was a little sad when I saw the "Made in China"…

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Disappear

Fits great and is worth every euro.

Perfectly fits my 04-WRX. I did this for prevention purposes as the fuel filter was native. Definitely recommend and it's insanely easy to make. Just make sure you follow a few guidelines when you do this to relieve fuel pressure (similar to pulling the fuel pump fuse and cranking the crankshaft a few times). It's full of gas when you take it out, and since you'll want every drop of this top-notch beauty, try putting it back in the tank when you're done. The fuel filter sits directly in front…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Does not fit all
