Excellent value for money

I bought this unit to replace the original radio/cd player on my 2004 pontoon boat. Installation was pretty easy. Compared to the radio it replaced, that's amazing! Everything works as advertised and it has enough power to listen to music even with the boat engine running at full power. I love the variety of connectivity options - Aux-in, Bluetooth, USB stick and SD card, not to mention AM/FM radio. The presence of a remote control makes it very easy to control the device. The only downside isโ€ฆ

In positive shock!

Bought for our boat earlier this year. I was shocked by the sound quality. I'm usually a bit of an audio snob and usually only use high quality car audio in my cars. But since this will be exposed to sun, rain, salt water etc all year round I've decided to go cheap so I won't be leaving the house much unless it's for long. I hooked it up to 20 year old speakers that were already on the boat and when I turned it on I was completely blown away by the sound quality and performance this thingโ€ฆ

Better than my old $200 Sony - Very happy with this stereo

I installed this stereo in my 24ft Crownline deck boat replacing a 2010 Sony stereo. I kept the original 4 Sony speakers which seemed to work fine. Installation was easy with a wire harness. I was skeptical as the price was so low but decided to trust the reviews and glad I did. Bluetooth on the stereo easily connects to various cell phones. FM radio starts well on the water. My setup is obviously not a modern wakeboard sound system with amplifiers and floorstanding speakers beaming the soundโ€ฆ

The Biggest Disappointment In Marine Stereos

I thought the third time might be the charm of this receiver but it isn't. I bought a Pyle receiver a few years ago so my boat just arrives and doesn't work out of the box. Fast forward to now, thought maybe the quality control would have been better, ordered one in black. Connected and NOTHING. When I reset it, it blinked "goodbye" and then turned off (so it's clearly powered). Sent it back and ordered in white hoping it might be a 3rd time. Just plugged it in and it does exactly the sameโ€ฆ

Pros
  • An Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Useless Features

Epic Fail in just one application

Considering the price of the device, the quality is still not worth buying. This is not a naval unit. The volume control is effortlessly turned off, making the volume control useless on the go. The wiring of the loudspeakers does not correspond to the declared performance. I only connected 4 speakers, the device cannot push the sound. But wait, that's not all. Anyone who owns a boat understands that the concept of being permanently connected to the battery (behind the switch) is not possibleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • hands-free
Cons
  • unreliable

Furnished. it lit up. he tuned in. The screen freezes and doesn't work.

I bought this for a boat I'm keeping in Baja. We installed it following all mfg instructions. It runs. the screen is fully displayed but does not execute any commands. I reinstalled it to follow the instructions again to make sure we didn't install it wrong. Same problem. We removed the radio and packed it up. I brought it home to the US. I spoke to Revane about this. They said the 30 day return period had expired (it couldn't be installed and tested during that time as the boat was out of theโ€ฆ

Surprisingly good sound and performance!

----------- This is an updated review. ---------------- I recently installed one of these stereos in my boat center console. This time I paired it with a pair of 150W 6-1/2" Pyle speakers in the front and a pair of 300W 8" Kenwood speakers in the rear. I can only say WOW! With these speakers, this stereo system is amazing! Deep, amazing bass, clear mids and crisp highs. I attribute most of the sound quality to the Kenwood speakers, but that's only because the head unit is delivering the powerโ€ฆ
