Bass is not well audible from speakers

this is a midrange driver, no bass detected. at least for me. not exactly what i wanted. but it's for the garage, so don't expect too much fullness. Strangely, the cone barely moves. on the other hand, it seems to be getting noisy. I hope this helps someone.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • There are problems

Perfect fridge magnet.

Needs replacement for center channel where both diaphragms are worn and chattering on bass. It's not them, the voices sound like beer cans and make my dog run. I've tried putting them in 3-way tower speakers with great mid-range crossovers to save them from the trash. It didn't work, one is in the trash and the other I use to keep bolts and screws in the garage. Might be enough to replace a Fisher Price radio, but your child will be disappointed too.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some bugs

Mediocre performance

Purchased because the 120W Legacy LM57 5.25" Carbon Injected Midrange drivers were unavailable. Previously used LM57 to replace blown speakers in Optimus PRO X77. I use them on mine Surround back channels. Sound system. The PDMR5s don't sound nearly as good as the LM57 speakers. The bass and mids sound worse. I've repaired two X77s with LPDMR5s, really as a backup in case I had another malfunction; but once the LM57s are back in stock I will buy them.

Fits 1990 Ford Ranger Rear Speakers

Fits 1991 Ford Ranger Speaker Enclosure Depth and Diameter. It took some effort to carefully open the boxes without damaging them. I then had to re-drill the holes on the new speakers to better match the existing speaker enclosure pattern and screw size. The sound will not impress, but will make the sound more voluminous. I think Ford used a 4 ohm speaker so that's the wrong ohm size which loses some volume. Overall, I'm glad the speakers lived up to my expectations. 🐙

Excellent mid presence

I bought these to replace some old mids. I knew they would be loud when I saw the size of the magnet. Rubber edges ensure a long service life. Their response starts at a good 450Hz, so you can use a lower crossover frequency than say 1200Hz. But rather 500 Hz. The sound is detailed and clear. Very clearly. I might consider installing L-shaped pads to reduce power a bit. Your sound production is great. The performance is good, declared at the level of 200 watts. The output is good 92dbl @ 1w. I…

On the fence in automotive and automotive electronics

I'm SUPER impressed with this. They're not long enough to replace a 6.5" or 8" speaker, but when used in conjunction with coaxial speakers they're amazing. This speaker is way too loud for a small 5 inch speaker. I use it for my Bluetooth shop system that I developed. The only thing that worries me is the frequency range that sucks, it's very narrow. Update: As it's cracked, I notice significant distortion. I have a high pass filter on this speaker so it doesn't record below its frequency…

God I thought PYLE was crap these days took a chance and bought 2 of these 5 inch midrange drivers and if you have an old school Onkyo 75W with a pair of 12 inch subwoofers, Marantz -Switch on crossovers and a pair of Sansui horn tweeters. This set will blow your mind. I took an 8 foot piece of plywood, made an 8 foot long box and made a 14 inch square (big long rectangle) with a divider in the middle. and installed all the odd ball parts.
