They are great and look very good for the price. They have a very long cord, nice too, the only problem is that the on/off dimmer is about 2ft from the plug. I bought these for lighting on either side of my bed and luckily I have a plug next to either side otherwise I would have sent them back. Nobody wants to get out of bed to turn off the light next to you.

This lamp was beautiful and fairly easy to assemble. I wanted to hang it in my kitchen where I don't have electricity for the overhead light. I was hoping to turn the light on and off as it hangs from the ceiling. The toggle switch is about a foot from the lamp, not closer to the plug, so you can't turn the lamp on and off unless you hang the light underneath. In that sense, it's not designed to be very functional. Didn't work for my needs.

So I think if you have a room that is already well lit or you need a spotlight above your desk or something like that you might change my rating to a better one. one or two stars but my issues with this is 1, when i turn it on it makes the room almost darker like a spotlight showing how dark everything else is. 2, they seem to make a slight buzz.
