Sturdy, easy to clean

These bakeware are strong, durable and easy to clean. I've been using them for four years now, maybe a few times a month. Apart from a few scratches they are in great condition. The main disadvantage is that they are made of glass and the glass acts as an insulator. Cooking in them takes longer than in a metal pan.

Pros
  • Well made
Cons
  • unreliable

Very dangerous! suitable for bakers and casseroles

They don't make it like they used to. On 2 separate occasions these items exploded when removed from the oven. We followed the instructions. There was no contact with anything metallic, hard or cold. They just exploded in a very dangerous way, scattering glass and spoiled food all over the kitchen. We've been using Pyrex for 40 years with no problems. These newer versions appear to be buggy and dangerous.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Socket required

Explosive Cookware!: Bakeries and Casseroles

Don't Buy This Cookware! mine exploded! look it up The thing is, they explode! Pyrex has reformulated its glass and is now facing a class action lawsuit. The dishes are not heat-resistant. change and explode when removed from the oven. Trust me, I've experienced it and it was insanely dangerous! Luckily I only got hurt in the arm and thank goodness my kids weren't in the kitchen when it happened!

Pros
  • Quality Build
Cons
  • Doubtful Elder Buy

Terrible Pyrex Pan: Bakers & Casseroles

I bought this pan last year and have been using Pyrex for years. However, we don't use this very often and it has worked well to date. We cooked meatloaf at 350 degrees and when it was done I went to get the pan and meatloaf out of the oven. One side of the pyrex board was completely broken, meatloaf, glass and juices spilled everywhere. Since we've only used the pan about 6 times and it's only about 9 months old, I think it's terrible.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Damaged

Very disappointing, PLEASE BEWARE; ALL Pyrex glass sold in the US

I complain that I had no idea that US made/sold Pyrex glassware (all lowercase) is now made from soda lime and NOT borosilicate as it used to be will! The original brand PYREX (all capital letters) is the one I was looking for, it doesn't crack with temperature changes. The seller must indicate in the description of the goods that this dish is NOT CURED! If I had known it was a jar of lime I would not have made this purchase. Very deceptive and disappointing!

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Terrible packaging at Kitchen & Dining

We have had one of these pans for 25 years. Still sturdy but looks a bit worn. I ordered this set of 2 as a replacement. Unfortunately, the packaging was so dismal: a smaller pan in a larger one, with no packaging in between. The set is barely wrapped with a sheet of paper. Arrived in a thousand pieces with a larger pan. I contacted Revain and they told me to keep one piece and they will refund the full price. Good service. The pan itself is made from the same high quality Pyrex as alwaysโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • No performance

The pyrex plate exploded!

I bought this set from Revain in 2016 and have used both bowls a lot. However... last night I roasted 2 [uncooked] chicken breasts in the oven at 350 degrees. About 30 minutes later I heard a loud cracking noise from another room. To my horror, the dish exploded in my oven. There was glass everywhere, not just big shards, but tiny shards. When I removed the chicken breast, the pan fell apart even more. It was a disaster! (Photos attached) The chicken was unedible and I spent hours cleaning upโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Exploded in the oven. This is not real Pyrex.

Explodes in Furnace. It's not real Pyrex, it's dangerous stuff. I was just roasting a piece of fish in my oven when I reached out with a spatula to take the fish out and the dish exploded. Real Pyrex is made from borosilicate glass, which is a very heat resistant, cheap lime glass. Corning sold the Pyrex brand in 1998 and the current owners use it as a brand name, but they do not make them from real Pyrex glass (i.e. borosilicate glass). If you search the internet for the word "Pyrex explosion"
