Versatile Pyrex Prepware 8-Cup Glass Measuring Cup – Complete with Lid for Added Convenience Review

I love Pyrex so I bought this measuring cup as soon as I saw it. What a wonderful thing! I never seem to have the right measuring cup, but this one takes care of everything, and it's Pyrex! Would buy again (if ever needed).

I was heartbroken when my vintage kitchen bowl broke, but then I found this measuring cup and everything was fine again. It's durable, easy to clean, and the lid comes in handy when the dough needs to rest. This is my go-to for everything but hand blending.

This mug is the size of a batter bowl and is great for pancake mixes. I can be covered to keep unwanted residue away from food. This measuring cup has so many uses and is extremely durable. Pyrex products still seem to be excellent. It should last a lifetime and then some.

I'm a pastry chef and this is perfect for heating up my ganache or other sauces. It's heavy, but made of glass, so that's to be expected. I love that it comes with a lid so I can store it in the fridge if needed. It is ideal for whipping or heating large amounts of liquid. Bought 2, love it!

I'm replacing my Pampered Chef bowl. This bowl has a very wide base. So if you mix a small amount of liquid, it will be difficult for the mixer to pull the batter into the mixer blades. The spout is also unusable. Liquids flow down the sides of the bowl as if there were no drain spout at all. I'll think about how to come back. Not at all satisfied. However, high quality heavy pyrex glass.

WOW! I'm still on Cloud 9 after having my first experience baking and making pancakes with this 8 cup Pyrex contraption. I measured the flour right in there, added the other spoonful-sized ingredients, cracked the egg in, poured in the buttermilk, mixed everything in the pyrex, added the fat/bacon fat, tossed, then poured the batter straight into the pan from the pyrex. Lots of space and the top feels pretty solid. Their disadvantage is that they cannot be stacked in the refrigerator with the lid closed. The molded handle on top has a small and rigid protrusion so nothing flat (other glass containers, plates, bowls, utensils, etc.) can be placed on it. I NEVER use plastic in the microwave or refrigeration because there are so many warnings about plastic toxicity. We used to think that plastic was the perfect and easy solution for all of our needs, but studies have shown that the food stored in it contains many nasty chemicals.
