BAMM! Love it! for computers and accessories

Love it.! I just got one of these laptops (windows 10) that only has 2 usb ports and 1 hdmi port and nothing else (not even a cd drive). A trend that manufacturers are following today. Anyway, I just plugged it into a USB hub (iXCC 7-port USB hub) and bam, there's a high-speed wired connection. No downloads required, Windows detected it and did the installation, period. My WIFI sometimes slows down due to all the other wireless signals in the building. So it's a good replacement and holds upโ€ฆ

No installation instructions, flimsy work, sent back.

There are no instructions in the box. When plugged in, my laptop recognized it as a floppy drive. Autostart did not start. I ended up accessing the "drive" via explorer and saw the installation files. Run the exe and install the device as a network adapter. Although I was able to tweak it and it worked for a while, it kept crashing. This cycle repeated itself, it was connected, then disconnected again and again. Very frustrating. I'm pretty sure my network isn't the problem as the slowerโ€ฆ

Works great and is solidly built

This works great on its own and overcomes the limitations of any Wi-Fi only setup. It's solidly built, well packaged, and feels like it's meant to last. Note. You can skip this comment if you have more than one 3.0 slot available. On my Microsoft Surface Pro, which only comes with 1 3.0 slot, I'm using an external USB hub and the RJ45 connection seems to conflict with my other devices (mouse, keyboard, external HD). I tried it on two different hubs and both external devices stopped working andโ€ฆ

Doesn't work with Nintendo Switch

Pros - Cost - No drivers required to install Windows 10 64-bit PC (works like a champ!) Cons - Doesn't work with Nintendo Switch If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to a USB 3.0 network card for use with Nintendo Switch. This product does not match the invoice. I've tried not playing full price for the Nintendo branded option, but it looks like I'll have to invest in a Nintendo network card if I can't find another option. It's not a total loss as it works great on my laptop. Updateโ€ฆ

Works great - driver/cd drive installation can be a bit tricky

Works great and installs very quickly after installing the drivers - see below INSTALL FROM CD -- there was no CD and the drivers could not be found on the web --->> SELECT INSTALL FROM CD (even if there is no CD) <<---- Your device installs quickly and easily and works perfectly. - The little box-like piece you plug in should contain the drivers and presumably act as a "CD" drive. Simply using the CD option in the dialog will load the drivers and you're done. It would be nice if aโ€ฆ

Cons
  • Unbelievable price

I bought 2 of these cables. Put one on my Linux Mint system, just plug and play and it worked great. So 5 stars. I wasn't expecting any issues with my 64-bit Windows 10 system, but unfortunately it took more work. Please note that I'm not computer savvy and had to do a lot of research before I came across a solution. On my HP Pavilion G6 2249 I had to enable the NIC to read it correctly in the BIOS. Then I went into the properties of the network adapter in Windows and in the speed settingsโ€ฆ
