Solid Hat Industrial Electrical

Small, sturdy relay board, well folded. Provides a pass-through expansion port. Be careful with too long relay solder connections on the underside of the board as they can short out if they touch the Pi - it's best to use spacers or insulators.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • No instructions

Best relay hat, hands down.

FINALLY! I have tried many relay boards and relay hats. Others that could handle 5 amps had terminals that accepted 24 AWG wire. Those that could handle 14 AWG wire had circuit boards that could handle 2 amps (with a 10 amp relay). This handles 5 amps and can easily handle 14 AWG wire. Love it!

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

The easiest way to add 8 relays to a Pi with a 40 pin bus.

No hassle with power settings. No jumpers or connection cables. Plug in the Pi and just apply +5VDC to this board and it will power the Pi. Currently using this and a Pi ZeroW to run a SIP sprinkler control. Buy a couple of DIN rails and they slide or snap into place with ease. The examples on the mfg site don't work, but they can be forced. In Python, simply select Rpi or BDC chip numbering.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • No automation
