Worked on first try on Raspberry Pi 3B+! Instructions in the box

I hooked it up, connected my Pi to an HDMI display and then typed the commands into the terminal as shown on the instructions page that came with it. The Pi restarted and the display worked fine with the touchscreen! No hassle or need to mess around with additional configuration. This is with a Raspberry Pi 3B+ running standard Raspbian. (Early 2019 version) In the box there was a pen, a display and a small instruction page with 5-6 lines of commands to input. Remains set on subsequent reboots,

Fantastic single board computers

I have several Raspberry Pis. One of my builds is for a system called Pi-Hole. This is the system you use for DNS on your network and it blocks all those annoying ads when you're on InterWeb. I added an additional module called PADD which is a quick to read status screen so I don't have to log in every time to see these stats. I have used this type of screen in other projects and after calibrating the screen it is very accurate and responsive when using the touch part. I've found that you have…

Very good screen, would buy more

Excellent screen. Just plug it into your Pi with the latest kernel and run the scripts from the github repo "LCD-Show" and it will work without a custom image or major configuration changes. I really like it, it's not Adafruit but it's the next best thing. However, be aware that some programs run slowly when using the TFT screen. Because it's controlled via GPIO, the display completely bypasses hardware designed specifically to handle video output and requires more CPU time to drive than an…

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Almost never

It took me more time than I'd like to admit to get this to work with my Raspberry PI 3B. In the end, the solution turned out to be quite simple, but not obvious to a Linux newbie like me. The first thing you need to know is that this screen seems to be directly inspired by the Waveshare RPi LCD(A) 3.5 inch screen and uses the same drivers. (which are available on the Waveshare wiki). I used the instructions above with a small but important change to the driver files. Because I used the Noobs…

Favorite Pi accessory that cost me more money

This touchscreen is great, it makes my Raspberry Pi so much more convenient to use as I don't have to walk around the TV to see what's going on is. what I wish I had known before I bought it. 1) Downloading software to get it working is a pain and never switch it to HDMI output after you've downloaded everything or you'll have to start over. I've found this to be a simple solution using two micro card SD. one is formatted for touchscreen and the other for HDMI output if you just need a bigger…

Great Display - Computer Components

Firstly I didn't use the image provided. I downloaded updated drivers from github and installed them myself. Pros: Powered and powered by GPIO. Drivers work without fuss. Rpi-fbcp from stasanakorn also works fine. Also. ** Readable from a distance ** Highlights: Slow. It's sooo slow. glxgears on pi3b+ runs at < 15 fps and usually around 6-9. When not in use, it is bright white, adding extra warmth to the system.

Still works great for computer components.

. Getting the touchscreen to work was easy, the only issue I had was OctoScreen restarting about every 10 seconds. The solution was to reinstall X11. I can't give details due to Revain limitations, sorry, but you can find out how to do it if you follow the guide "Installing OctoScreen with TFT 3.5" 480x320". By the way, it's the same Touch model The display I used before I was finished and printed within 5 minutes of package delivery This time everything installed correctly on the first try…
