Great LCD panel for your Raspberry Pi project

Ignore the comments about the lack of speakers. You are buying an LCD panel, not a TV. And ignore the upside down complaints, it's not upside down with: Smartcase Enclosure for Official Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Display - Adjustable Angle And if it's upside down with your particular mounting solution, it's a simple edit in one line to fix it Google "Raspberry Pi Invert Display" (First search result for me, YMMV.) The display is bright and crisp The touch interface works well with Chromium on the…

Would be nice to use if it worked

I hooked up two different RPs to this touch screen. The computers themselves worked as expected. The screen just wasn't there no matter what I did. I've tried every solution I could find but to no avail. I will not blame the seller for sending me a product that does not work as advertised as they refunded the money promptly when they found out about the problem and probably were unaware of the product that may have been faulty. While I know there are literally hundreds if not thousands of happy

Good, but not as good as it could be.

Good but not as good as it could be. The display is cheap and breaks easily when trying to get it in a suitcase. Even if you work with it without a housing, it can easily become separated on the display. The cable makes it difficult to see how it connects to the board. They only give you 4 wires to connect to and there are five pins on the board. Fortunately, if you connect via a flat cable and use the USB port for power, you don't need them. The display is pretty good, but the drivers (yes, I…

While it works great. It's easier to install than I thought.

I don't know if they changed the way they ship their product or if I just got lucky, but mine was pretty much fully assembled when I did got it. The circuit board was installed contrary to the videos you can find on YouTube. All I had to do was attach a larger ribbon cable, power wire, and ground. Since I didn't particularly like the cables above and bought a case I wanted to rotate the LCD screen 180 degrees as many others have mentioned. I did the following: 1. sudo nano /boot/config.txt2…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

Bought one of these the other day. I'm very happy with it so far. Now I can work with the Pi without distracting the TV! Since the kit didn't come with assembly instructions, I researched it on Google. I found a YouTube video that explains how to wire everything. Really very easy assembly. I thought that was all I had to do, but I was wrong. I turned it on, but unfortunately there is no display. Further research on Google led me to a couple of very important steps that most bad reviewers are…

No instructions, connector broken but acceptable Display

I bought this to use with my Ender 3V2 3D printer but mainly as an Octodash/Octoscreen display to control my 3D printer since after After installing the standard clipper, the display on the printer no longer works. First, there are no instructions, so go online and find an installation video. Another problem I had was that the ribbon cable connector was defective and so I had to modify it with parts I took from another connector to fix it. Since the official Raspberry display drivers are part…
