Instructions are a bit lacking for Linux - lost a star here as there are no instructions for Linux. But I can confirm, despite other comments, that this works great with Kali and you can use monitor mode. Also a little lost by the smell of the installation manual. Very permanent ink or something!

I accidentally bought this adapter thinking it used the Realtek AR8812AU chipset. Having tried using it now I believe it can use any of the other AR8812 chipsets. I installed the appropriate drivers on my Kali machine (I'm currently using an Alfa adapter with an AR8812AU chipset and it works great). Unfortunately I will be returning this wireless adapter.

I use the metal case from Flirc which while great at maintaining RPI kills the already poor wi-fi on these minis. The addition was immediately recognized in the Ropieee OS version of Arch that I use for audio streaming. Your results may vary. My download speed went from 50Mbps to 250Mbps with no dips. All my applications now recognize my PI.

The software looks the same as it does in Windows XP, which I found odd, but you only see it once. After going through about 4 others we tried this (I thought it would be just as bad to be honest) but so far we've had one on the basement computer for about a year and a half and another on the upstairs computer for about half a year. a year and both still work great. Internet speed is a few MB faster than what we pay for, but I'm not complaining lol.

I use it to get a 5G signal from quite a distance and when the signal is active it works fine. I get frequent signal dropouts due to the poor service of the Wi-Fi system I'm on, but it adapts very well to dynamic environments. I keep a separate b/g/n enabled to compensate for the drop in /ac and this keeps my internet pretty stable. Good product, fast shipping. I recommend both the seller and the product.
