Description of 🪑 REDSHIFT Dual-Position Aluminum Seatpost: Optimal Comfort and Versatile Seating

Part of the Switch Aero System (NOT THE SUSPENSION SEATPOST). Switch between road and aero positions on the fly. Adapt to conditions you encounter during your ride. Climb comfortably in the road position and hammer the flats in the aero position. The forward seatpost position replicates the steeper seat tube angle of a tri bike, opening your hip angle and letting you ride comfortably and powerfully in the aero position. The patent-pending linkage design maintains constant saddle-to-pedal distance in both positions, ensuring proper leg extension in road and aero.

Not what I thought it would be

I bought Redshift because I like what they did for the necked seatpost. I thought there was a shock absorber seatpost with more, but sometimes it has to go or back, when I have it on I do something, it comes back on its own

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Ideal! This was the first step in converting my .

Perfect! This was the first step in converting my road bike to a more TRI specific setup. This seatpost works great and puts you in an aero position with ease. I already have a clamp on the aerobars and am now adding some bar end switches to complete the setup.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Expensive

Suitable for on the fly adjustment or dual purpose bike

I've been using this product for 3 years now, it's a good product. Allows me to "stand up" on the pedals and recline the seat forward or backward for relief or posture adjustment. Otherwise the seat won't flip back and forth, but will stay where you put it (you have to deliberately lift the seat to flip it back and forth).

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

I like being able to move back and forth at will

Due to my limited budget I bought Redshift Aero bars first rather than buying them as a set with a seatpost. Now that my seatpost is in place (and I've had to buy a spacer) it takes a little practice to get it just right on the fly. I felt like my seating position was further forward than my previous seatpost, so I adjusted it a bit. In general, I like that I can move forwards and backwards at will, which makes a long ride more comfortable.

  • Pleasant

  • So far so good

Easy to use, very well made

This is an AMAZING seatpost! I took it to install during a bike fit and the person who fitted me was very impressed and excited to fit it to my bike. Since then I've been riding it indoors on my Kickr trainer and practicing rocking it back and forth. I have to grab it in front and pull it forward, but moving backward is easy. However, I like the fact that it's quite heavy to move back and forth so you don't accidentally move it in the middle of a ride. Overall I'm very impressed, it's very well

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Hard to say

Bike for two purposes! - Seatposts

First, I spend about 50-60% of my time in the aero position. The problem is that with a good aerodynamic position on the bike you're going to have a terrible vertical position when riding on the hood. In fact, there is no middle ground. This seatpost is the answer! I also switched to a split saddle because a typical road bike saddle wouldn't be comfortable with that seatpost; especially in the aero position. Needless to say I love it. I can change position by bringing my hips together and…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Disappear

Great Design - Parts and Accessories

I was not sure of the quality or effectiveness of this product until I installed and tried it on. Firstly, this device will never accidentally switch between two positions; However, when you're ready to make the switch, you can do so easily and spontaneously. I'm really blown away by how easily I can move between two positions without tensing up, swaying, etc. Second, it serves its purpose well. As I set up my road bike for my first 70.3 triathlon, this seatpost keeps my body in a comfortable…

Skepticism out the window

My opinion on this seatpost changed when it solved the problem of getting a workable fit between aero bars and my drops on my gravel bike (note: you can't with standard geometry, you have to choose one or the other if you don't have exotic bars). It's not cheap, but it's definitely cheaper than a custom aero bar. It's a little heavier than a standard post, but it's worth it and the quality is excellent. The adjustment was just enough to fit my Selle Italia (my particular model has very high…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
