But between the innermost sleeve and.

These metal bushings are a definite improvement over the plastic bushings normally supplied with the sanding disc. But there is a large gap between the innermost sleeve and the mandrel of the grinder. I had to route each bushing (with painter's tape) to ensure a tight fit and eliminate as much wheel run out as possible.

  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • So so

Spring. for power tool parts and accessories

Not sure I bought these sockets. The ones I got were from "GRD" (Jacks Set) - what I ordered and the GRD jacks were very high quality. Almost no play when connecting the sleeves. Did a great job of keeping the grinding wheel centered. I think the ones listed were sold by "DLLJs" and not the ones I have bought or would buy again. The DLLJ bushings were made in China and had a lot of play between the bushings when mated.

Straight, no vibration. Rotation

Good purchase allowed my BENCHGRINDER to run smoothly with the correct shim - first mandrel then large spacer then smallest shim for my spoked wheel then 2nd mandrel then nut tightened - smooth and medium ie me am sure i will have to use it when other wheels are fitted if you want to buy this product spend the extra 7 bucks and buy the one that comes with 4 spacers. It is worth it and especially used as I said if you are I will use other wheels

STOPS VIBRATIONS - Ideal for Norton wheels/bricks.

I tried using the plastic spacers that came with the Norton sanding disc. What a waste of time. The wheel wobbled so much that my bench grinder vibrated like crazy, and there's no chance you'll be able to sharpen or grind anything accurately. Not to mention that unbalanced circles are dangerous. This didn't completely eliminate the vibration as the wheel still needed to be balanced, but made it usable and the grinder safe (eliminated excessive vibration and wobble). All I can tell you in thisโ€ฆ

Result of using product

Bought a 150 grit Norton wheel combined with a 60 grit that the adapter sleeve will solve the problem on the new wheel but that is not the case. The wobble with the plastic bushing that came with the wheel was no worse than the machined bushings. It was possible to minimize the wobble by using tape on the inside of the wheel where the wobble was directed inward toward the pickup shoe. There are many carpenter websites that describe methods of dealing with wobble. I have no doubt that the steelโ€ฆ

Better than expected

I have an old bench grinder that has terrible vibrations. It was very loud and had to be bolted to a heavy stand or it went all over the place. I doubted these bushings would solve the problem but I was working on cleaning/repairing my coffee grinder and finally decided to give it a try. When I received it, I was even more skeptical. They were well made but didn't seem to fit together perfectly. They still had some dirt in them. But when I installed it and turned on the grinder, all vibrationsโ€ฆ

What's new in bench grinders and how to get wire wheels working.

All I knew was that the spoked wheel was wobbly and the plastic thing that looked like the liner out of the box was needed to get the wheel turning and it wasn't worked all the time. I started researching. I've found that my mandrel is 1/2", the spoked wheels have a 5/8" bore, and both of those don't work without help ie reducer bushings. I searched for days and settled on this manufacturer because I'm a cheap bastard and don't like to buy twice. I originally used just one hub (see disclaimer)โ€ฆ
