I like this step in the External Accessories section

They cost $30 in HD. Looks good and makes it easy to get in and out of my truck bed. ***Updated 7/30/16 The aluminum is rusted and looks terrible. I took it off, cleaned it with a spoked wheel, primed it and put 2 coats of rattle pad on it. I love the step and can't live without it. I wish the finish lasted longer.

Pros
  • Good product for its price

Cheap junk and dangerous.

Worn for a few days, noticed it wasn't tight enough. I tightened it a little, then stood on it and shook it a bit to make sure it was stable. This thing broke in half and scratched my leg as it collapsed. Please note that this tier is not steel or aluminum, just stamped pot metal. Warning Label Required: Use only if you weigh less than 100 pounds and temperatures are above freezing. DANGEROUS PRODUCT.

  • Very good price

It is very convenient that there is a step.

I have an F450 and the rear bumper is quite high even for a person over 6ft. This is exactly what I needed. My only concern is that the screws that came with it weren't long enough as I have a class V hitch. I had to purchase stainless steel screws that were half an inch longer than those in the kit, but that solved the problem. I have since bought a second one for my wife's F150 truck (no need to buy longer bolts for this).

old man and thought i climbed in the back of my truck

I carried a two step ladder with my truck that I could get in the back of my truck but now with the tailgate up I have three steps to to pull something out of the truck if needed, 2 steps on my bumper and this newly added bottom step which is now the perfect height for my first step when I need to get into the back of my truck with the tailgate down which I still use the two step ladder but it's not too often, works great and looks just as good on the truck

  • Sturdy construction

followed the advice primed and painted

The photo shows that I tore off one of the screws. And although I have a standard receiver hitch the plastic spacer is no longer needed to install with a stage as I have replaced my ball with a Reese blocking ball which works well with the stage base due to its shape of the patented Reese blocking ball is equivalent to. followed the primer and paint recommendations from one of our reviewers. This will work fine on my Tacoma when towing my teardrop shaped camper trailer. I bought the Like New…

Great concept Bad design

I share this concept because I tow a trailer on a daily basis and have a generator in the back of my truck that I need to fill and turn on etc Step 1 seemed like a great solution! When tightening the bolts, however, it was barely enough and one of them even burst. For the installation I used my strong screws. Although this is a fairly cheap product, I expect better quality from a well-known branded product. It seems to be the only product of its kind on the market so I have no choice but to…

Great step, great price, read the instructions for proper installation

All this negative feedback on this step is probably because people didn't read the installation instructions. Photos are attached to the instructions. Follow them and you should have no problem backing up this step. The installation took me 10 minutes. I didn't have to remove my existing 2 inch ball. The step is attached to the bottom of the ball. Then the top plate is attached from above. The washer used is a piece of plastic or a washer that someone mentioned should be metal. You don't have…

Great clutch space at a great price!

I installed it as soon as I received it. I attached it to my Reese hitch. My first impression was that he seemed stronger than I had imagined. It's at least 3/4 inch thick along the step and seems very strong. Installation was very easy; All you need is a #3 Phillips screwdriver and the ability to bend fairly well. The supplied plastic seal is halfway useless. , but I installed it anyway following the instructions. I first tightened the 4 Phillips head screws with a screwdriver but could see…

Useful and Durable!: Tow & Winch Items

This is my second Reese Towpower (7060200) Tow and Go Hitch Step. I first had one of the earlier versions that used Phillips countersunk screws to attach the top plate to the clutch stage with countersunk locknuts. I had absolutely no issues with this design, although some reviewers complained about the Phillips screws and the inability to tighten them. Mine never came loose and I didn't even use threadlock like some said you should. I think some people have something to complain about…
