Best value for a great product

Price was the deciding factor when buying a brake controller, but I also needed a device that would do the job properly. It hit both of my search criteria right in the middle of what I had in mind. Nothing fancy but a great unit. It does the right thing and you won't find it any cheaper.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • There are flaws

Terrible! - Trailer Accessory

Braking times suck for Down Hill. No matter how hard I press the brake pedal, my trailer's brakes light up after 3 seconds of pedaling. Invest in a proportional controller to better match your trailer brakes to your hitch brakes.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Beautiful control for trailer accessories

on my Ranger to pull a camping trailer. The installation went with a bang. On my first ride I was impressed with how well it stops a trailer. I love that it only works when a trailer is connected. It tells you if it's connected to "c" on the display. I'm happy with that.

Pros
  • Robust surface
Cons
  • There are more interesting options. I installed

Great product in exterior accessories

This brake controller works very well. I've had it for over a year now and it works perfectly. The variable braking function works great and allows you to set the braking power exactly how you want it. The display is clearly visible day and night and bright enough without interfering with night vision. It comes with a standard U-Bracket and a unique adjustable ball mount that allows you to mount it however you like. Looks great on my dash and compliments the interior of my Jeep (new model)…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Negative impression

Works as well as the more expensive

Got this in the mail the day before the 7 hour drive and it worked great. The setting I used was 5 and it worked amazing BUT YOU NEED an adapter. I looked and looked to see if it was just plug and play and I was wrong, but thank goodness my local auto shop stocked one. Let's just say they rhyme with o.shmilies, if you've got it, plug it in and mount it anywhere. I use it on my 2008 Ram 2500 6.7L Diesel. Make sure you have zip ties to hide the wire.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion

There is no normal reading.

I connected this to my 2015 Tundra pretty easily. I bought a Revain recommended Tekonsha 3036P adapter and hooked up the system. After that, after stepping on the brake pedal, I only get a decimal number on the display. Permanently no reading with decimal point on the display or 0 should always be lit, not only when the brake is applied. I've been waiting at Reese's for over 30 minutes and any attempt to contact him via email is useless as they take days to reply. In general, my brake control…

Works great in trailer accessory

It's simple and easy to install and set up. It doesn't offer proportional braking, but for basic braking control, it's the easiest to install (mount in any position) and easiest to use, which is what my friends and I have found. All you need is power, a ground and wire to turn off the foot switch, and power delivery to your trailer's brakes. If your rig is pre-wired, all you need is an adapter plug for your vehicle make and model and you just plug it in, plug it in and you're done. My…
