I bought it mainly to test homemade kefir water as I use fruit juice and get a very high alcohol content. So when I make adjustments to shut it down I want to know how I'm doing. It's a simple monitoring tool, but using it properly can be a bit tricky. I also tried honey herbal tea and it turned out to be 12% alcohol, which I don't know. Please read the product description carefully and ignore user comments. The description correctly states that the product is intended to measure the alcohol content of DISTILLED spirits. You CANNOT get an accurate reading from this or any other beer, wine or cider refractometer without first distilling it and then using this device.
