Do not order in Bakeware & Supplies

Candy Towel Made from something very thick like canvas. He is very tough. I would not recommend buying this product. The rolling pin cover is also made of inferior fabric. I doubt it will last long. Luckily I still have my old rolling pin lid which was of very good quality.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • hard to tell

Old school and I love it

Good old candy fabric my mom used to use. I love them, and for most things (well, everything except the holey berry dough, which I've learned the hard way) they're better than silicone mats. I just shake off the excess flour, fold it up and store in a ziplock bag until I need it. Very convenient. And nostalgia. :)

They want you to keep it in the fridge after use

I wanted a good quality baking cloth to roll out the pie crusts and it's good quality but the instructions say you shake out the excess flour then put the cloth down in a plastic bag for storage and refrigerate which I find odd. I don't mind washing my candy after each use, which I will do.

  • Worth the money

Use them all the time. Always the perfect pasta.

I teach baking techniques. I am keeping some of these to hand out to the students. They always want something of their own after using mine. Toss them in the wash with other kitchen towels and they will be perfect. The rolling pin lid may wear, but only a little. The fabric is large enough to cut out cinnamon rolls. After initially flouring both the fabric and stick coating, I use a lot less flour, which means a tender batter or crust.

i made a cake crust on it yesterday and it was the best and lightest crust i've ever made. After soaking the dough in flour, I rolled out the bottom cake. I placed the fabric directly on the counter and quickly noticed that it moved when rolled. It's a bit annoying. So, before I roll out the top cake, I place the silicone mat I have under the candy towel. The napkin stuck to the silicone mat and stayed in place, making it easier to unroll. Both times the crust separated easily and cleanly fromโ€ฆ

This is a good product and I expect it to last a very long time

I don't know what the problem with this product is for some people. The fabric is very thick and serves its purpose. I hand washed it when I received it, hung it to dry and then steam ironed it. It held together and didn't fray at the edges. The size is almost the same as before washing and ironing. Very large!. This fabric will replace the one I had for twenty years. You have to know how to deal with them. The pores of the fabric should be filled with flour, so the first time you use it, rubโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • No mold required

Where has it been all my life?

I've been trying to bake a crust for longer than I'd like to admit. I've tried baking boards, mats, and even my mom's technique of rolling between two sheets of waxed paper. I avoided baking because I just couldn't. I heard about candy fabrics and finally decided to give it a try. M. good. I prepared the fabric and it was amazing. This fabric is thick, looks durable, and has stitched edges. It came with a rolling pin cover which I used. The only issue I had was some of the threads sticking outโ€ฆ

Not useful in baking pans

I was hoping this would make a great addition to my pie crust preparation. The shape is square, making it difficult to fit on the counter and work without spilling flour on the floor. A rectangle would be better or a smaller square to allow the dough to be rolled out for a "10" pie. It's too light so it doesn't stay in place. Also the lid of the rolling pin is too light, it slips off and doesn't hold the flour. I toss both items in a giant 3 cup bag of all-purpose flour. I shook it in the bagโ€ฆ

The absolute best baking sheet I have ever used

The absolute best baking sheet I have ever used. After my last fabric wore out so much it broke, I ordered this one to use right before Thanksgiving Pie weekend. It is durable and stays in place on the counter. Rubbing flour into the fabric will of course keep the dough from sticking, but the weight of the fabric itself, along with its size, will help hold the flour and release the dough. I traveled for Thanksgiving and packed a candy wipe and rolling pin bag in my carry-on for my cross-country
