I've had at least one lid buckle in every batch I canned in a water bath. This is very frustrating as I now have to process these glasses a second time. You're just too weak. Probably good as a lid if you don't plan on using them.

. I was initially skeptical about using another manufacturer's canning lid, but it worked great. I didn't have any lids that wouldn't close. They are packed in a small white nondescript box. Be sure to wash them before use and, as recommended, soak them in warm water for 5 minutes before placing them in a mason jar.

Some missing metal in the ball caps. So the tops crumple like cotton and don't have the stiffness of a ball cap. Personally, given all the work I've put into canning and the fact that I'm giving away canned goods, I'd rather be sure I'm not losing my job or a family member getting sick because of a bad seal. I would use them when opening containers in a few weeks, but not for food I want to keep longer.
