I bought and broke all 3 versions of this item that are available at the auto parts store and my filter didn't move at all. It was sold as forged aluminum like the #1 at Revain for $30 but at a small price point so I gave it a try. I removed the filter without damaging this product. It could have been better (more leeway than I would like) otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

NEVER BUY! Complete bloody abortion of the product! I wish I could leave 55 negative feedbacks! This product is absolute junk! It fell apart and smashed me in the face! Now I have to pour $29 Mobil 1 into an engine with a dirty filter until I have a new "quality" tool. All in my wife's car, which she uses to bring the children to me tomorrow. Please! I have a 2016 Toyota Highlander and my Firestone synthetic oil change cost me $80 after tax. Considering I save over $40 on oil changes myself, it wasn't hard to spend $10 to buy this part that I can use for as long as I own the car. It practically pays for itself after a single use. The tool is made of durable metal, it is very easy to put the oil filler cap on and unscrew it in one movement. I'm an average height girl so if I can do it, anyone can!

This tool is honestly less of an issue than the fact that this type of filter is primarily a POS setting. Most people don't understand that this type of oil filter is not suitable for your engine. Baxter Performance of Washington State sells adapter plates to convert most of these applications to traditional spin-on filters. They're not cheap, but they're cheaper than long engine wear from long dry starts. I also recommend only using filters with check valves.
