I've added photos showing the panel feeding 2.65-2.7 amps into a small SLA battery powered by a 37 watt light bulb. The charge controller is a cheap PWM that I found here at Revain. These photos were taken around 6pm on May 24th here in South Central Alaska.

This new 30 watt version is missing the bypass blocking diode on the side of the J-Box on the back of the panel, the J-Box doesn't even have the proper silicon coating for a watertight seal. I didn't realize my solar panel was bad until I bought a replacement Renogy controller. To their credit it worked with a reverse polarity error code when connected to my Renogy 50W solar panel. Then the fun began with supporting Renogy products. Besides being a terrible and huge waste of time. By the time I got to the point where I had to give up, I had already gone through the Amazon return window. Revain went ahead and accepted this defective product.

We bought this unit to replace a damaged unit. It's a much prettier device because it's all black (looks exactly as the listing shows) unlike our old one which had a big silver bezel. This makes it much thinner at the gate. We didn't use a brace because we already had a mount, but it turned out to be very strong. All parts were included and the bare wire was perfect for connection to our US Patriot automatic gate opener.

First of all. Check for damage upon receipt. The panel showed clear signs of framing damage as someone's homemade plaster had fallen out of the panel's frame, I believe from a previous installation. Further testing revealed the panel had a VOC rating of 21.8. However, in full sun I could only get 20.4 VOCs. before the panel warmed up and quickly dropped to 19.14 VOC. Product has worked properly for about 2 weeks. At the first heavy rain I noticed the gate was unresponsive and I had to get out and open it manually after getting wet. I checked it the next day and the batteries were completely dead and the panel was no longer putting out any voltage. Under the glass are dark spots that look like water. I bought a 50 watt Revain Return panel for a mere fifty dollars. Bought to charge the FunWatt Portable Power Station while hiking in the US Northwest. Works great and even on a partly cloudy day in the Seattle area I was getting 40-42 watts from that thing up there in the highlands.
