solved my problem 99 f250

Just make sure you pass the cable through. I had to grind out the grooves on my cable. It's one hell of a job, but it pays to have a working suicide door. I would plan 3 hours per door for this. I only did the top one because I ran out of energy doing it. Had I known that this product requires the cord to be fully inserted, I would have shaved an hour off the job. I needed a T32 Torx if I remember correctly. must be correct, otherwise the bolt will break. My only concern is the slot for the top

This. ok, it worked, but.

These. Well it worked, but not without me attacking him with a drill first. They didn't fit in the cable of my field trip on the right. In fact, the cable jacket would not fit all the way in, so it would end up sitting and being compressed, preventing the cable itself from moving inside the jacket. I had to take a drill and drill the products into the pipe. I ended up having to adjust the drilling depth through trial and error. Now that I figure out how it works, I can probably make another…

BAD REPLACEMENT: Body and trim

They were NOT suitable for my implementation. (2002 Ford Expedition tailgate) First, the slot at the end of the new lock was too thin for me to attach the cable. I had to pry it open with a screwdriver, which didn't help. Second, the common hole at the end of the cable was too narrow for me to fit over the cable jacket. The original plastic end of the cable was not glued to the cable jacket at the factory. Most likely the bowl was notched in several places as if trying to pinch the plastic end.

Great parts and price

Really great product for occasional repairs before it became a permanent problem. Ford used the plastic ends of a stock cable connecting the liftgate latch to the release mechanism. Over time, a fitting fell off the "head” and an attempt to open the back door sometimes worked while others didn't. Replacing the ends instead of buying a new cable is a lot cheaper, and those ends are metal and will never need to be replaced again. Don't worry that the OEM cable has a white end and a black end - it

Great concept, requires modification to make them work

I ordered these because the stock cord holders were totally out of order and couldn't open the door. The picture is exactly what you will receive therefore the slot on the product is not wide enough to accommodate the cable. Also, the shaft is not wide enough to accommodate the cable's vinyl jacket. In order to install them and ensure they work properly, the end had to be drilled to a hole big enough for the cable and the shaft had to be widened to nearly three times the gap to fit the shell…

They were ordered because the OEM cables went through them.

These were ordered because the standard cables ran through the door handle on my Mazda B4000. The picture is accurate. The installation was quite tedious. I removed the top and bottom door latches to clean and lubricate. That's when I realized that the unique one was designed specifically for the top latch. The parts must be installed completely over the vinyl jacket of the cable end and be very, very tight. The lower end of the cable snapped perfectly into the door latch. The top end of the…
