Description of Precision Thin Rip Jig: Efficient Table Saw Accessory for 🔪 Accurate Narrow Strip Cuts on Table Saws, Router Tables, and Band Saws

Making repetitive cuts on your table saw is a pretty straight forward process. Set your fence and feed each stock piece through the blade to achieve the same size each and every time. What if you need a series of narrow cuts that are about an 2 inches or less in width? Doing this can get tricky since you cant get your hands safely between the blade and the fence. You could always reverse measure and keep the off fall piece, but without a guide of some sort that can be inaccurate. The Thin Rip Jig acts kind of like a third hand behind the blade or cutter. With the saw unplugged simply measure from the outside of of the blade toward the tip of the (guide roller) Thin Rip Jig for the width cut you want to make. Once set, secure the Thin Rip Jig simply by rotating the large, easy to grip star shaped knob. After your first cut, reset your stock behind the blade and slide the fence over so your stock piece is touching the guide roller on the Thin Rip Jig. Lock the fence. Making your thin rip cuts in this fashion allows you to cut wider boards down without getting your fingers in harms way by keep them away from the blade or cutter. The Thin Rip works much like a feather except that it doesn’t exert spring like pressure against the board. This means it can be used to make accurate, repetitive cuts since it’s essentially just holding its spot once it is secured. The Thin Rip Jig has a roller guide bearing on the tip to make feeding your stock through an easy and smooth moving process. The free rotating bearing is made from high quality materials for extended workshop use. The jig fits directly into most any standard 3/8” x 3/4” miter slot. The body is made from a solid piece of aluminum and is adjustable inward and outward from your fence depending on the width of your stock. The jig can be used on other workshop machinery like router tables with fences and band saws for re-saw applications. In certain cases, when working with larger or longer stock on table saws or router tables, we recommend using two thin rip jigs behind the blade or cutter for extra stability when feeding your stock through.

First measure the distance between the corner slot and the blade!

I have a Dewalt table saw. The angled slot is 6" from the blade and the roller bearing in this jig does NOT extend far enough to break 1/4" or 1/8" wide strips. The first two photos show a 1/4 inch piece of maple stacked on a blade; the bearing does not touch it. the last photo is also fully extended. The best it will do is 3/8 inch or more. Don't add another half inch of length. And there are several others on the market that look just like this one. Measure first, buy once or not.

Read this first but be sure to buy this mount

This will not mount on a Bosch saw table. I liked the quality. Heavy piece of metal. Nice big camp. Should last forever, but is not included in the table. I read the reviews and remembered this was an easy fix and FIX. turn it around You will see a large black Phillips head screw. On the opposite end of the screw is a black knob that tightens everything. Loosen the knob and turn the screw (bottom) until you feel a "click". Slightly tighten the handle to secure it. Place the tightening handle on

Limited range, you may not be able to cut thin strips of wood on a band saw

This is a good tool for safely and predictably cutting thin strips of wood on table and band saws. There's nothing stopping you from making these cuts without a jig, but you do have to keep pushing the wood against the fence as you feed it, which can be a bit error-prone when using pushers. This gizmo makes your life a little easier. However, what is not mentioned is that the device has a fairly limited extent from the slot in which it resides. Blade making it impossible to cut thinner strips…

Found: Power tool parts and accessories

I ordered this despite concerns about the angled air tube routing. I was drawn to the hefty all-metal construction and price. Of course I've had issues with the slide getting stuck in my Dewalt saw (the kerf isn't machined at an angle and a number of tools that depend on the kerf have issues, but other than that it's a great saw). The instructions clearly state the importance of aligning the tiny protrusions on the screw head. It's hard to imagine that such small protrusions can make such a big

Great unit and worth the price I paid for it

First of all it is a very solid construction and will easily withstand the rigors of the average carpentry shop. It's well designed and couldn't be easier to use. I'm a fan of pressure blocks (including expensive, adjustable brands) but still worry about getting my hands closer to the open blade than I'm comfortable with. This device makes the process much safer and stabilizes the product during the cut. It fits perfectly on my table saw and also on my router table, but unfortunately it doesn't

Pros
  • Best in its niche

  • Nothing here

Great jig and customer too!

I love this lure. I was able to get 1/16" thick strips out, and with a little effort I could probably get veneer strips as well. When I first got mine, it didn't tighten in the corner slot of my Kobalt K-1015. I went on here and asked if anyone did had the same issue and got some good answers but none of them solved the issue. I contacted Infinity Tools and they offered to fix the issue. I've added it to my review below. This is a great example of how should be a customer. I will definitely be…
