Sleek and secure door hardware

After trying this privacy hardware, I am impressed by its sleek design and sturdy build. The installation was quick and easy, and I appreciate the added privacy it provides. The only con I could find is that it may not be compatible with all types of doors. Overall, a great addition to any home security system.

Pros
  • - The Richelieu Hardware 1701BPSBC Privacy Rectangular lock offers a high level of security and privacy to any room or space.
Cons
  • - The lock installation process may require professional assistance, adding an additional cost.

Better than the original

Good durable replacement lock with all metal parts to replace the original 1974 lock where the plastic bar broke. Although it was said to work for doors that open left and right, it came the wrong way and the liner had no instructions on how to flip it. I had to submit the question online and when I got the answer it was easy to disassemble and reassemble to use in the opposite direction.

Pros
  • Hardware
Cons
  • Cleanliness

Good for old sliding doors

It took me a long time to find a replacement sliding door latch/knob in a 1968 sliding door. Many newer homes use large handles, but our 1968 home was a little different. I only had to remove some wood in the inner cavity, but the wood rasp did the job quickly. We now have a lockable handle in this bathroom for the first time in years!

  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Not sure
