340-1500 Combination Arkansas Stone 6 "

I've always preferred Arkansas stones for sharpening knives and other things use cutting tools. At 50 I see no reason to change anything. These stones are well bonded, flat and should serve me for many years if I don't drop and break them.

Pros
  • 6" x 2" x 1/2"
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Excellent Arkansas Combination Stone

Very happy with purchase. One review mentions a gap between two stones, but mine fits perfectly. I would have no hesitation in recommending this item to anyone in need of a sharpening system. For honing oil, I only use cheap 2-stroke motor oil for my Arkansas stones. I've tried oil specifically for honing and can't tell any difference other than cost.

Pros
  • Featuring soft Arkansas stone for initial sharpening and hard Arkansas stone for finishing
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good stones in handy box

Stones work well. They are flat and smooth. I could sharpen all my knives on rocks. The soft Arkansas side is around 600 grit. The hard Arkansas side is around 1000 grit, which is a good combination. The box is two boxes glued together that don't connect or fit snugly to the stone so I have to use a rubber band to hold the setup together. The two stones have a small gap between them where they are glued together. Ugly, but doesn't affect work.

Pros
  • Always use with grinding oil
Cons
  • Not bad but...
