🎒 Enhanced Duffle Bag - Rothco GI Type Review

Bought two of these bags for a 10 day canoe trip. The bags seemed sturdy and well tailored, but after being towed across the water by a canoe for a week, the seam where the straps were sewn into the bag body began to unravel on both bags. The design would also be greatly improved with a simple sternum strap over the backpack's shoulder straps.

Considering the price it makes sense and I shouldn't be surprised but the quality is lower than CIF. Since it's a large bag that only needs to be carried from one car to another, it gets the job done. But the straps and stitching already give out when heavily loaded and I try to use it in a backpack configuration.

I ordered this bag and 2 other Rothco bags at the same time and they were all listed in Olive Green but see my photo for color differences! All three are different shades of green and now I have to bring them back just because the colors don't match. I was looking forward to doing a whole collection but now I have to find another brand. Why would you do that to people 😢

Packed this bag for the first time on a trip and it broke immediately. It was difficult enough to close with a cheap plastic zip and once loaded I grabbed it by the side handle and it ripped instantly. It not only tore off the handle, but also tore the entire corner of the seam inside the pocket (see photo). The bag immediately became unusable and I had to go back to my old top-loading duffel bag. Don't buy this, it's a waste of money.

In general, a very nice sports bag. It is very big and well built. Carried it on two separate trips across the country, one with an Amtrak as checked baggage. It has held up great. Even if he got dirty, he would wash himself off immediately. The zipper is still strong, the optics and the straps are good. I love her so much this is my second. One for clothing and one for gear. The first is also strong. That's what I expected. I don't know if it's mil-spec, but it's well built.
