Pricier than popular store brands but SO worth it

My senior absolutely loves this food. She recently turned 12 last month, she was 9 when I adopted her. She is by far the pickiest eater I’ve encountered thus far. At first I was feeding her Sheba as it was the only wet food she would touch and is a step up from friskies, which was given to her when she was in the shelter. From there it’s been trial and error, she has severe allergies, stomatitis, and no teeth. Our veterinarian recommend the prescription hills science diet but I wasn’t trying to

Pros
  • The product is shipped and stored in a controlled environment to ensure that it remains fresh and nutritious
Cons
  • May cause cats to have diarrhea due to high levels of gravy

My cat loves it ! good for me

My Siamese mix is 14 and on meds. I offered this to him and he immediately chowed down ! He loved the dry so I figured he like this and it was a winner.

Pros
  • 21 year old cat eats it with gusto. Pretty awesome, really.
Cons
  • Not enough chunks of meat in each can

Very expensive but also very worth it

I started noticing my 13 year old cat was eating less and less of her food causing her to loose weight and hydration. Thankfully I found this food and immediately gave her some (I know you're supposed to slowly mix foods but in the past she has turned her nose up at mixed foods). Wow! The cat cleaned the bowl, something I haven't seen her do since she was eating dry food in her younger years. After a few days she started looking healthier, seemed more lively, and has a healthier appetite…

Pros
  • The gravy contains a blend of vitamins and minerals that support overall health and vitality in senior cats
Cons
  • May cause cats to have respiratory problems due to low quality ingredients

Gave my cat diarrhea

My 15 year old cat liked the taste. But it gave my cat severe diarrhea. This very overpriced cat food is full of chemicals. Pork is not natural cat food.

Pros
  • My older cat loves it
Cons
  • May cause cats to become picky eaters

This seller is ripping you off.

I've been using this product for my older cat. There is a shortage right now and it is hard to find. However, this seller is taking advantage. Their advertised price is way high . . . I used to buy three 24 can packs for almost what they want for one 24 can pack.THIS RATING IS FOR THE SELLER, NOT THE PRODUCT . . . THE PRODUCT IS FINE AND MY CAT LOVES IT.

Pros
  • KIDNEY HEALTH: Controlled phosphorus levels help to provide kidney support
Cons
  • Not recommended for cats with cancer as it contains low quality ingredients

Great for senior cats with low energy/arthritis

OMG! My 14 year old Orange Tabby LOVES this food. After feeding him just one can per day I noticed he was walking better and was running around. His arthritis was gone. Wow, it was like he was 7 years younger. Anyway, I’ll be buying more Royal Canin.

Pros
  • The gravy is full of natural aromas and flavors that senior cats find irresistible
Cons
  • May cause cats to develop arthritis due to lack of beneficial ingredients

Good product, dreadful packaging

Produce is great, packaging was terrible ! The box holding the cans had fallen apart, it was mailed in a bubble mailer rather than a box

Pros
  • Canned
Cons
  • May cause cats to have bad breath due to low quality ingredients

My Fancy Old Cat Loves it! But small cans

GREAT! My 18 year old cat is able to chew and eat a whole can. She must have sensitive teeth in her old age because she doesn’t chew a lot of other foods like friskies, wild blue, etc. But this one is really liked. The cans are small. I wish they were just a bit bigger. Overall definitely like the cat food.

Pros
  • My senior rescues seem to love this new food. Too bad it's so expensive.
Cons
  • Not as palatable as other senior cat food brands

My 19 yr old siamese eats.

The price is a bit high, but you can't find it in the pet stores around here so it's worth it as long as she eats. Not recommended for cats with spinal cord problems.

Pros
  • The food contains a moderate amount of phosphorus, which is beneficial for maintaining optimal kidney health in senior cats
Cons
  • Not recommended for cats with spinal cord problems

Don’t buy in large quantities until your cat tries it

I bought this for my aging cat who who is a picky eater when it comes to wet food. Unfortunately she will not eat this. I was disappointed because reviews from others with picky eaters said their cats loved it. It’s good nutrition for aging cats, but unfortunately after 12 tries with this food, I will be donating the rest to the local shelter.

Pros
  • It helps to promote healthy skin and coat, reducing the risk of skin irritations and allergies
Cons
  • May cause cats to have skin infections due to low quality ingredients

Don’t get your cat used to it. Unreliable supply

Cats can be picky. We landed on this year ago and he loves it BUT the last several months it has become a scramble to find it. Anywhere. More for the manufacturer than Revain: fix your supply chain problems! Otherwise I would rate it 5 stars, but not when I can’t count on it being available.

Pros
  • My cat loves this cat food!
Cons
  • May cause digestive problems due to too much gravy

My cats like this .

I have two older kitties (brother and sister, 13 yrs old), and was recommended this by their vet. I also feed them dry kibble Fromm Four-Star Nutritionals Surf and Turf Formula Dry Cat Food, 5-Pound Bag , so they split one can of this per day, and are doing well on it. I alternate it with the Royal Canin 24-Can Feline Health Nutrition Digest Sensitive Canned Cat Food, 3-Ounce Per Can , which they also like. As long as they'll eat it, and it doesn't appear to be causing any new problems, I'm…

Pros
  • Royal Canin Senior Cat Food is specially designed to meet the nutritional needs of cats aged 12 and above
Cons
  • May cause cats to have dental problems due to lack of beneficial ingredients

Great for picky old cats!

My old girl is SO picky. She gobbles this up! I was so happy to see that. She has never eaten a food so quickly, and it makes this mama happy. I wish it were cheaper, but if it's good quality and she'll actually eat it, it's a price I'm willing to pay! She also tends to throw up after trying new foods, but after multiple feedings this has not been an issue with this food.

Pros
  • 10.75 x 8 x 3.25 inches; 5 Pounds
Cons
  • Not recommended for cats with heart problems due to high levels of sodium

Old Cat is eating again!

my 15 year old house cat is really picky with her food and on top of that has really bad digestion problems. Pretty much any food you give her she will either throw it up, have diarrhea, or just not eat it. This food she loves! She chows it down and digests it very well. No throw up and diarrhea to clean up whatsoever. She also has gained on a few pounds since eating this! Good Stuff

Pros
  • It helps to maintain healthy teeth and gums, reducing the risk of dental problems in senior cats
Cons
  • May cause cats to have spinal cord problems due to lack of beneficial ingredients

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not small pieces as stated in description

I purchased this for my elderly, finicky eater cats since its made for older cats and supposedly consists of smaller pieces for easier eating. The cats actually eat it, which is surprising, but the pieces of food are too large so the cats are just licking the gravy and leaving the food pieces behind. Probably wouldn't buy again since so much of it is wasted.

Pros
  • It comes in a variety of flavors, allowing you to rotate diets to keep your cat interested and engaged
Cons
  • May cause cats to have gastrointestinal problems due to low quality ingredients

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Both cats love this

Both cats love this food. The food seems really soft and easy for the 15 year old to eat. Both cats seem to have more energy, with this being added to their food bowls. I'll be purchasing this for as long as the cats keep eating it.

Pros
  • The food is low in fat and calories, making it ideal for senior cats who tend to be less active
Cons
  • May cause cats to have depression due to lack of beneficial ingredients

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great purchase for my opinion

I purchase this for my elderly cats and they love it. I have always been a fan of Royal Canin. I also get them the dry kibble.

Pros
  • The food is made with high-quality protein sources to support muscle mass and maintain lean body mass in senior cats
Cons
  • Not recommended for cats with kidney problems

Healthy older male Siamese loves Royal Canin aging

I wasn't sure what to feed my older cat who was slowing down and had hard, dry stool, so I took several cans of cat food to my Veterinarian appointment for her input. I decided to go with Royal Canin Aging 12+. Several years later, I can say it was a good decision.I can only guess that this adopted in 2002 kitty is now 18 years old. He eats 2 full cans of food a day and his appetite is good. With annual vet check ups, he's nearly as healthy as the day we adopted him. Sure the price is high…

Pros
  • It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, which help to support joint health and mobility
Cons
  • Not recommended for cats with liver problems
