You have to press very hard to get the ink dark enough on the paper. I will say that the real quality of the material is very good and high. It's heavy and looks well made. The only problem is that one of our keys was duplicated (i.e. we had two identical keys). Luckily, this isn't a key that's used often. We contacted customer service who advised us to return it to Amazon and order another. We didn't do it because the key doesn't bother us too much.

My second comment(s) concerns the little Royale. I finally persuaded myself to open the instruction manual and to my surprise I was able to get my hands on the little guy. Here we go, BUT WITH SOME NOTES AND QUESTIONS. (1) Steel keyboard protector. Do I need to keep it after removing it? (2) Ribbon slips when I type. Which means? (3) Requires two plastic carrier rail stops. There was none. It seems to me that I might have trouble installing these items if they send me replacement parts.
