I used this to refill Berkey "Black" water filter elements. Berki offers something similar but costs more. The 3/8" ID vinyl hose fits well with the two stainless steel clamps I had on hand, and the 3/8" ID hose works well with the fitting on the Berkey filter. This item appears to be durable. It doesn't look like it's going down any time soon. Note. It may not work as a siphon. The valves are "normally closed". I tried blowing it out and it takes a lot of pressure to open the valves inside.

I installed this on a boat late in the season last year - never used, just getting ready for (outdoor) storage. It turned out that the tonneau cover didn't quite cover this and when I started using it at the start of the next season - about 6 months later - the rubber had a lot of tears. So I replaced it to no avail! The mechanism worked well and I will use it as a siphon pump until it fails, but it is not reliable enough for its intended use as a fuel bulb on a boat exposed to the elements.

In July 2020 and it's almost December now and I need to get another one. The lamp is starting to crack and I don't think I can trust it during the winter season. I will go to my local parts store and buy a replacement, not again from this seller. I just don't know how long the pear has been on the shelf now that the rubber hasn't even lasted a year. I use this to start a homebrew siphon from fermenter to keg that runs with a pump every time. A NOTICE. I disinfect the contact tip before use and do not run any liquid through it as I think it will be difficult to properly disinfect the inside of the hand pump. I'm absolutely adept at running a siphon with a full hose of water, but this pump is great because I can get a clean start with a clean, dry hose and a reed switch without the risk of starting water washing back into the brew becomes…

I like the quick delivery and easy returns. I ordered 5/16" primers and received 1/4" primers. Either the storage location is wrong or the items are sold out. I have ordered and returned an order and requested a replacement of the same item and from the same supplier. The second order didn't work either. 5/16 is the inside diameter (the inside measurement of the two stems at each end).
